Just had the first round of our little comp in Central QLD so I thought I'd post up some results.:thumbsu:

CQU Rockhampton Panthers: 16.9. (105)
Glenmore Bulls: 8.2 (50)

First half was very chippy, umpire had to call in both captains to settle things down, but from the 3rd quarter on, Panthers concentrated on footy and piled on the goals. Brett Fragiacomo is a gun.;)

Boyne Island/Tannum Sands (BITS): 29.10. (184)
Rockhampton Brothers: 3.5 (23)

All I know was that it was rather one sided, Darren Boase kicked 9.

Yeppoon Swans: 15.20 (110)
Gladstone: 12.10 (82)

Was apparently pretty close until the last quarter, where Yeppoon stepped up and gapped Gladstone.

If anyone wants reserves results I can post them too.

Cheers.

Just had Rd. 2 matches yesterday, Panthers beat Gladstone by 30 odd I think and go top of the ladder for the time being. In a bit of a surprise, Yeppoon beat Boyne Island/Tannum Sands by a goal while Glenmore smashed Rockhampton Brothers by 90 or 100. I'll post up scores when they come to hand.

Here's the final scores from last weekend's round 2 matches:

Yeppoon: 6. 14. 50
Boyne Island/Tannum Sands: 6. 8. 44

Going by that, Yeppoon are doing well already, beating BITS for the first time since 1999 and even though it's early and they were at home, could be flag favourites by beating the league's powerhouse.

Rockhampton Panthers: 15. 13. 103
Gladstone Mudcrabs: 9. 3. 57

Panthers controlled the match in ridiculously windy conditions in Gladstone, kick for goal, then a gust of wind would come up and the ball would go 90 degrees from goal.......:o Clint Ennis kicked 6 goals for Panthers.

Glenmore Bulls: 20. 11. 131
Rockhampton Brothers: 4. 8. 32

Brothers are really struggling, they've lost a lot of players from last year when they made the grand final. For Glenmore, Dean Woosnam (formerly played for Sturt in South Australia I hear?) kicked 5 goals

Round 3 is April 14.

We've lost.....

FROM LAST SEASON
Scott Smithwick (On-Baller, Went back to Sunbury)
Clint Ennis (Full-Forward, Burned his bridges)
Anthony Smart (Full-Back, Dumb enough to follow Ennis)
Brett Fragiacomo (Back Flank, Reasons sound too confusing)
Brett McAleese (Centre-Half Back, Too busy shagging the bosses' daughter)
Tim Grose (Centre-Half Forward, Graduated from Uni but may appear a handful of times given his girlfriend is still here, he has signed for us)
Ray Stock (Ruck, Illness)
Paul Moloney (CHF/CHB, Can only play reserves)

Then so far this season we've had basically injury after injury after injury.

Interesting to see dean woosnam mentioned. Captain Coached Narracoorte to a premiership last year in the KNTFL in SA. Played against him 2 years ago and was tough player to play against.

Whats the standard of football like up there? Anyone heard of Sean Bayzand from Yeepoon?

The standard is actually fairly good, but Mackay and especially the Cairns league would be higher standard. I'll let you know about Yeppoon, we (Panthers) play them this weekend.

Ok, 3rd round of the Capricornia league was played this past weekend, here's the results:

Rockhampton Panthers: 23.11.(149)
Yeppoon Swans: 5.6.(36)

Panthers first home game and played really well, although Yeppoon had a shocker, they just didn't turn up at all. Adam Kaufmann kicked 9 for Panthers, should've got a couple more but missed a couple of easy ones.

Boyne Island/Tannum Sands: 10.12.(72)
Glenmore Bulls: 8.11.(59)

Glenmore pushed BITS all the way, but not enough.

Gladstone Mudcrabs: 17.14.(116)
Rockhampton Brothers: 3.2.(20)

An undermanned Brothers gets smashed, they had several players playing in the ressies then backing up for the big boys.

Here's the ladder for the A grade comp:

Panthers: 12
BITS: 8
Yeppoon: 8
Glenmore: 4
Gladstone: 4
Brothers: 0

Alrighty, Round 4 matches were played this past weekend, here's the results.

Rockhampton Panthers:..........17.9.(111)
Boyne Island/Tannum Sands:...16.5.(101)

A thriller at Rocky Cricket Grounds, Panthers played a brilliant 1st half and were 40 points up at half time, but BITS came back hard in the 2nd half of the game, at one stage drawing level, but Panthers dug deep in the late stages to pull off the win. Clint Ennis bagged 9 goals for Panthers

Gladstone Mudcrabs: 16.13.(109)
Glenmore Bulls:.........8.13.(61)

Gladstone are an improving side as Glenmore found out, Barrett kicked 5 goals for the Muddies.

Yeppoon Swans:..........26.23.(179)
Rockhampton Brothers:.2.4.(16)

Well what can you say? Brothers struggle continues while Yeppoon bounces back after being smashed by Panthers last round. Wes Hawke and Trent Rapp each bag 7 goals for the Swans.

Ladder:

Panthers: 16
Yeppoon: 12
BITS:....... 8

Ok, 5 rounds have been completed here in Capricornia with matches conducted last weekend.

Gladstone Mudcrabs:..10.9.(69)
BITS Saints:.............9.10.(64)

Bit of an upset here, I'd have expected BITS to bounce back after their close loss to Panthers, but credit to the Muddies, they're continually improving and are a real threat.

Yeppoon Swans:.........16.10.(106)
Glenmore Bulls.............15.4.(94)

Swans pull out an important win, Dean Woosnam's 9 goals for Glenmore still wasn't enough.

Rockhampton Panthers:.22.27.(159)
Brothers:....................5.2.(32)

Well Brothers have gotta look on the bright side, I believe that's the highest score they've kicked so far this year, but they kicked most of that score in the first 5 or so minutes. After that Panthers knuckled down and piled on the goals, would've got a lot more majors if the wind wasn't so strong too. Clint Ennis and Adam Kaufmann kicked 9 and 5 goals respectively.

Quick turnaround for round 6, which is this coming weekend.

Ladder:
Panthers: 20
Yeppoon: 16
Gladstone:12

Round 6 of the comp was completed on Saturday, here's the results:

Gladstone Mudcrabs:......18.13.(121)
Yeppoon Swans:............8.13.(61)

A resounding victory for the Mudcrabs, who are definitely proving that they're a contender this season. The match was marred by an all in brawl after the 3 qtr time siren, everyone in and I mean everyone, players, spectators, the lot. There'll be some fallout over that........

BITS Saints:..................32.26.(218)
Brothers:......................2.5.(17)

Yeah well what can you say............

Rockhampton Panthers:...14.12.(96)
Glenmore Bulls:...............1.6.(12)

Another spiteful game, Glenmore couldn't handle being smashed so they took runs at the Panthers players, there were quite a few altercations. As far as the footy goes, Clint Ennis and Clint Evans scored 4 goals each. A negative for Panthers was a knee injury to Brett Fragiacomo, hopefully it's not too serious.

So all in all, a rather chippy weekend of footy.

Ok, Round 7 was played on Saturday, with serious amounts of ownage dished out.

Rockhampton Panthers:.......16.18.(114)
Gladstone Mudcrabs:...........4.2.(26)

I only got to see the 2nd half of this game, it was billed as a blockbuster- 1st against 2nd, but the Muddies had nothing, they were flogged everywhere. Panthers veteran Gordon Oxenham got 4 goals, along with Adam Kaufmann and Marcus Britt. Pretty impressive since Panthers had a few players out too.

Glenmore Bulls:..................25.14.(164)
Brothers:..........................6.7.(43)

Glenmore bounces back after being kept to only 12 points against Panthers last week. Rumours that Glenmore had a crisis meeting after that flogging, so they've responded, we'll see what effect it has in the coming weeks. Dean Woosnam kicked 5 goals for Glenmore.

BITS Saints:......................30.14.(194)
Yeppoon Swans:................5.5.(35)

Another dose of arsekicking dealt out, looks like the wheels have fallen off for the Swans, I think Trent Rapp (Swans best player) is out for a few weeks too, but not 100% sure) so the next 3 or so weeks will really determine where Yeppoon is at. BITS look to be back in form too after some surprising losses earlier in the season.

Ladder:

Panthers: 28

Gladstone: 16
Yeppoon:...16

Gladstone Mudcrabs:...10.13.(73)
Brothers:...................9.8.(62)

Brothers get pretty close to their first win but Gladstone manage to hold off the Roos.

Rockhampton Panthers:.16.15.(111)
Yeppoon Swans:..........11.4.(70)

The first half was all Yeppoon, Panthers playing some shitehouse footy, but after half time Panthers turned it around totally, eventually winning by a decent margin. Kaufmann and Ennis got 5 goals apiece for Panthers. Also playing for Panthers was Peter Penaia, usually he plays rugby league in the Queensland Cup but he got suspended so he's playing Aussie Rules instead. Pete had a great 2nd half in the ruck and laid some crunching tackles, I'm tipping a couple of the Yeppoon boys are still shitting sand...........

BITS Saints:.................21.18.(144)
Glenmore Bulls:.............6.7.43

Boyne Island are back in form, Glenmore copping a pasting. Darren Boase slotted 7 goals for the Saints.

G'day, Round 9 was conducted on Saturday, here's the results:

Gladstone Mudcrabs:....15.16.(106)
Glenmore Bulls:............13.3.(81)

Glenmore threw this one away, they kicked 8 goals in the 1st quarter to lead by 41, then only kicked one goal in the next two quarters, letting Gladstone run over the top. Dean Woosnam kicked 6 goals in a losing cause for Glenmore. You'd say they're gone from finals contention now really.

Yeppoon Swans:..........19.15.(129)
Brothers:....................14.5.(89)

Brothers seem to be improving, but still denied a first win in the Seniors. Yeppoon had to play without Wes Hawke, who has been suspended for 6 matches (should've copped more, but hey, that's the way the cookie crumbles) Chapman booted 9 goals for Yeppoon in Hawke's absence.

Rockhampton Panthers:..16.22(118)
BITS:..........................7.6.(48)

This was billed as a blockbuster, BITS looked to be back in form and Panthers were missing 8 first team players, but no, BITS were never really in it. Only poor kicking from Panthers prevented a total annihilation. BITS looked ok for a small period, but man mountain Peter Penaia (he is ****ing huge!) kicked a couple of goals in quick succession, then the floodgates opened. So Panthers remain unbeaten after 9 rounds.

We break for most long weekends (Easter, Labor Day, Queen's Birthday, ANZAC Day if it falls on that weekend). This year there was also a break for the Under 16 Country Carnival which was held in Rockhampton. And then there's a break for Rep duties in 2 weeks (Squad to be confirmed to play Bundy/Wide Bay).

League is well supported, but the gap is closing gradually. Of course, they have an advantage because they have the Comets who play in the Qld Cup. But we tend to share resources, some of our players for instance have played Union or even The World Game at some stage this season.

G'day, there's pretty good support for the league here, but rugby league is the region's main focus, even though the CQ Comets suck (1 win out of 12 or so matches this year in the Qld Cup) Pete Penaia, who is currently playing for Panthers, is a forward for the Comets, but is serving a suspension and playing with us to keep fit (he used to play Aussie Rules full time years ago) Each team plays 15 matches in the regular season plus the finals. Grand final day is the 1st of September this year. 6 teams in the comp, 3 from Rockhampton, 2 from Gladstone and Yeppoon, which is 20 mins from Rocky.

No night matches this year, Panthers, who are based at the Rocky Cricket Grounds, have night matches early in the season if we have a home game scheduled, but it wasn't to be this year, hopefully next year. As for the standard, overall it's not as good as Mackay and especially Cairns, but the top sides this year in our league could give the Mackay boys a good fight I think. Panthers played a preseason game against a Mackay team (who are pretty damn good) and did well until we pretty much subbed off all of the first team players for ressies guys and first time hacks like me.:o

Yep, that's right folks, Brothers were kept blank on the scoreboard all game, absolute arsekicking, even though it was wet, muddy and friggen cold at the Rocky Cricket Grounds. Will they still be in the comp next year??

Going scoreless is a disgrace, they lost some quality players (ie, a gun CHB who didn't have the height of a KPP but could read the play and run off his man to create, a gun player).

Had Round 11 today, don't have the scores yet but I'll post up what I know. Panthers beat Glenmore by about 90, while I'd be sure that BITS beat Brothers. As for Gladstone vs Yeppoon, it was apparently called off due to a HUGE brawl during the game. What I know is that the Gladstone WATERBOY:eek: king hit a Yeppoon player (if something else led up to this, we'll find out, I'm not sure) Then it was all in. There was a dustup in the carpark afterwards too, punches ahoy. Yeppoon coach and player Wes Hawke (though he's suspended atm for punching a Panthers player after a game) got the shit beaten out of him from what I gather. Karma's a bitch eh Wes?

Ok, 2nd attempt at the round 11 scores:

Rockhampton Panthers: 16.25. (121)
Glenmore Bulls:.............5.4.(34)

Clint Ennis bagged 9 majors for Panthers, Barry Morris providing endless run and precise delivery from half back for the Panthers, Glenmore never in it.

Gladstone Mudcrabs:.....17.12.(114)
Yeppoon Swans:...........6.8.(44)

Yeppoon smashed. Questions will be asked about the brawl that happened, apparently Yeppoon supporters were baying for some fights, and decided that the Gladstone bench was a good target to start with, then it all went downhill. Not sure about some of the other details, but ugly incidents seem to follow Yeppoon around.......

BITS Saints:...............39.18(252)
Brothers:...................0.0.(0)

Brothers go scoreless for the 2nd game running, Nathan Shipard got himself 14 goals for the Saints.

Ladder:

Panthers: 44
BITS: 28
Gladstone: 28
Yeppoon: 20
Glenmore: 12
Brothers: 0

Next matches are this weekend.

Great to see an ex-Yeronga Devil getting a mention up north. Well done Barry - a top young bloke who we were sorry to see move away.

Also, is Rod Spice the coach (or still involved) at BITS? Another ex-Devil, his team looks to be strong in your league.

G'day Toucan, yeah, Barry is an absolute gun, don't think he's had a bad game this season at all, as for Rod Spice, I'm not sure what his involvement is, but BITS used to carve up everyone until a few years ago, their trophy room is filled to biblical proportions. They're still the standard that every other club aims at on and off the field I guess, but because of that the other sides have learnt and are improving, which means a better and more competitive league.

Yep, whilst we weren't winning Grand Finals in Brisbane, we kept being reminded by the BITS blokes that they had won 273 games in a row (or something like that number).
My Club has had a few players join BITS including Rod Spice, Alan Watkin, Matt Goyen, Glenn Smith - might have been some others who wandered through. So we've had a vague connection with that club.
But really happy to hear Barry is playing well for Rockhampton!

G'day all, Round 12 of the Capricornia league was conducted on Saturday, the race for 4th place and a finals berth up for grabs for Glenmore and Yeppoon. Here's the results:

BITS Saints:.............17.13.(115)
Yeppoon Swans:........11.5.(71)

Boyne's form is coming good at the right end of the season for them, despite the Swans best efforts. Nathan Shipard backing up from his goal glut against Brothers with 6 this time. Wes Hawke's suspension is really hurting the Swans as Glenmore get closer.

Rockhampton Panthers:.15.14.(104)
Gladstone Mudcrabs:.....6.5.(41)

Panthers continue their good form, despite having more than a few players out injured. Gladstone gave it their all, but couldn't match the Panthers run. Clint Ennis keeps up his good form with 6 goals, Adam Kaufmann bagged 3 while Joel Ralph got 2 and took a heap of outstanding marks.

Glenmore Bulls:............34.21.(225)
Brothers:....................0.1.(1)

Well Brothers avoid a hat trick of scoreless games, although just. End of the season can't come quick enough for the Roos while Glenmore edges closer to Yeppoon and that vital 4th spot on the ladder. Dean Woosnam leading the roo sodomisation with 18, yes, 18 goals. Greg Piggot got himself 5 for the Bulls too, but it was the Woosnam show.

Ladder after 12 rounds:

Panthers:.......48
BITS:............32
Gladstone:.....28
Yeppoon:.......20
Glenmore:......20
Brothers:........0

Here's round 13 results for everyone.

Rockhampton Panthers:.....19.17.(131)
Yeppoon Swans:...............3.4.(22)

Panthers caning the Swans, even with several Panthers players out injured. Adam Kaufmann bagging 7 goals.

BITS Saints:...................23.9.(147)
Glenmore Bulls:................7.10.(52)

BITS continue their good form by pasting Glenmore, Nathan Shipard and Darren Boase each getting 5 goals. Dean Woosnam, after his 18 majors last week, was restricted to just 3 this time.

Gladstone Mudcrabs:..........40.29.(269)
Brothers:..........................1.1.(7)

Brothers continue to get reamed, Barret and Montague each get 11 goals for the Muddies in their cakewalk.

Panthers:52

G'day all, had round 14 of the Capricornia league on Saturday, some interesting results as we get closer to finals action.

Glenmore Bulls:..........16.10.(106)
Gladstone Mudcrabs:..11.13.(79)

Glenmore keep up the pressure on Yeppoon for the 4th and final spot for finals action. Dean Woosnam leading the charge with 6 goals while Tim Mackrill stepped up from under 17s to bag 4 of his own. Gladstone continue their patchy form away from home. Fantom, you'll be pleased to know that Benny Burns got in the best for Glenmore too, got a bit of a write up in Saturday's paper as well.

Rockhampton Panthers: 16.11.(107)
BITS Saints:................8.12.(60)

Panthers take the bacon in the top of the table clash, Clint Ennis and Adam Kaufmann each getting 5 goal hauls. Clint Sutton putting in a BOG performance for Panthers. Unfortunately I didn't get down to Boyne Island to see the game (**** work) but my sources tell me that BITS weren't afraid to resort to cheap shit, which is a shame, I would've expected better than that from them.

Yeppoon Swans:...........24.21.(165)
Brothers Roos:..............0.1.(1)

The world of hurt continues for Brothers, who have scored only 9 points in matches from round 10 through to 14, I won't bother posting what they've conceded............ Yeppoon shared the majors around, 4 players getting 4 goals each.

So we go to round 15 this weekend, first up is Yeppoon vs Glenmore at Swan Park, 4th place is on the line here, currently Glenmore are 4 points (1 win) behind the Swans, but the Bulls have a healthier percentage, it will be a cracker and if Yeppoon are true to form, expect fireworks..........

Next we have Gladstone vs BITS at Clinton Park, Gladstone, the Muddies usually play their best footy at home, but the quality of BITS will be hard for Gladstone to counter, both teams have sewn up finals spots so who knows what will happen.

Final match is Panthers vs Brothers at the Rocky cricket grounds, last match Panthers belted the Roos 161-zip in wet and miserable conditions, the weather should be ok this weekend so one can only see a rather decisive result coming.

Panthers: 56

Herbs
31 Jul 2007, 12:50
G'day RT, don't have exact numbers on me, but a couple of weeks ago Clint Ennis was leading with 64 goals, he'd be over 70 now for sure, Adam Kaufmann has about 60. Dean Woosnam, despite his 18 goal haul against Brothers isn't up with the leaders, he along with Darren Boase have been kept quiet in quite a few games this year.

As for Brothers, it's a combination of things, lost a few players, injuries plus importantly, the rest of the clubs have improved markedly to compete with Boyne, Brothers have been left behind this year, we'll see what they can dish up next year.

Sounds like big trouble for the brothers club espeically seeing the game is being played in Rocky. Sounds like they will be needing to recruit heavily next year so they can get at least 2 sides together. How are you guys going for numbers along with the other teams in the comp?

Herbs
3 Aug 2007, 12:17
The other sides seem to be doing well for numbers, at Panthers it can be hard to even get in the reserve team, a few times this year we've had 25 or 26 trying to fit into 22 (and that's with up to 8 senior guys injured). We're still lacking for some juniors, especially U15s, but numbers are improving.

It's not professinal down here either but there are plenty of players that get paid, some as high as $1000 per game (country footy too). Perhaps the brothers club could offer an incentive simlair to a lot of clubs down here in vic: $50 per player per win, or $20 per player per loss. There should be plenty of business's that would sponsor clubs especially with a lot of mine's around the area.

Also if you guys have 6 or 8 players missing out on a game why don't you guys offer to give them (brothers ) some players so that at least you guys get to play a game of footy. Affectively let them play games on permitt.

Get real......as you should know, coming from CQ, we need every team we can get in our comp. No club needs to fold or merge. Certainly don't need to go to a lesser # of teams/bye round comp. That would suck!

Panthers have been there and are only just coming out of it now - went 4 season without a win until halfway through 2005. But we have been steadily building for the last 4 years. Put good management practices in place, known for our parties/socials. Also kept players together playing basketball, soccer etc during off-season. Picked up a few like this too.

Persistence pays off......... good management, good social, work with Juniors and it will all come together! Brothers juniors all won yesterday...........so the time will come again.

There should be plenty of business's that would sponsor clubs especially with a lot of mine's around the area.

There is no way that this kind of payment can happen in our league - there just is not enought money in the sport. League only has about $8-9k cash sponsorship a year, and that has only been in the last three years. Most clubs are pushing to get a couple of grand max out of their major sponsors.

AFL still a secondary sport up here, although that's starting to change - culture and attitudes in community. Player numbers aren't bad - approx 300 senior players, 150 U/9-11, another 200 juniors up to U/17. Compete with lots of other sports for interest, sponsorship, volunteers, everything! Is starting to become sport of choice with younger generation now we have Friday pm comp, so a few years time it will be interesting to see changes.

Clubs also don't have capcity to earn much income - most don't have clubhouses or social facilities, and the ones that do are run only on game days - too much competition in community to develop into sports clubs or the like - clubs struggle enough with volnuteers etc.

About the most payment that happens is token performance payments for best players etc - talking a pittance but you can buy a few beers! And it's the recognition that counts. We play for the love of the game up here :D!

Also if you guys have 6 or 8 players missing out on a game why don't you guys offer to give them (brothers ) some players so that at least you guys get to play a game of footy. Affectively let them play games on permitt.

You've got to be joking!!!! Our list is fine and at the moment there really aren't people missing out on games - we have had an average of 4-6 key first graders missing every game for the past few weeks, both grades being consistently supplemented by U/17, doubling of some players. A few may miss out on finals, all depending on injuries etc.

Panthers struggled for years!!!! And sorry Mooks, but you should try taking 14 players to play two grades at BITS and being hammered by 360 pts (and no, that's not a league record either - that was Brothers v Bilo about '84 - 401 to 0, or something like that).

To make matters worse, even when we were at out lowest we still had local clubs trying to poach the few key players we had, and we lost a heap to other clubs for various reasons, which really kicked off our slide (you know what clubs are like!).

We have worked hard to get to where we are now - several of our firsts have been with the club for over 15 years - grew up playing for Panthers. Another handful only started playing AFL about 4 years ago at 17 years of age and have been coached into the valuable players they now are. And yeah, we've recruited well this years - locally and further afield. We've also been lucky with some of the pick ups we've made. But we could see this coming last year - just couldn't imagine it would have turned out like it has so far. Still the REAL hard yards are coming up.

G'day everyone, we're down to the crunch time of the season now, with round 15, the final round being completed on Saturday. Here's the results.

Yeppoon Swans:........14.10.(94)
Glenmore Bulls:...........9.15.(69)

In the tussle for the last finals spot, Yeppoon come out on top to snuff out Glenmore's late season fightback. Dan Watkin getting 5 goals for the Swans. Long wait until next year for the Bulls.

BITS Saints:...............18.10.(114)
Gladstone Mudcrabs:....10.8.(68)

Clash between the rivals ends up being a comfortable Boyne win, built off a great first quarter start, kicking 6 goals to nil, from there on it was BITS' game for the keeping. Shipard continues his good form in front of the sticks with 6 goals for the Saints.

Rockhampton Panthers:..32.19.(211)
Brothers Roos:..............2.0.(12)

Panthers lead into their week off with a thumping, although one could say it could have been a bigger margin had Panthers not ****ed around with the ball at times, but hey, when you win by 199, one can't be too pissed off. Clint Ennis was in the mood, bagging 14 goals while fellow forward Adam Kaufmann got himself 8, was actually quite funny seeing them stealing marks off each other......:)

Ok, so here is the A grade ladder at the end of the home and away season:

Panthers:........60
BITS:.............40
Gladstone:......32
Yeppoon:........28
Glenmore:.......20
Brothers:........0

Reserve grade ladder:

Panthers:.........40
Yeppoon:.........40
Glenmore:.........36
BITS:...............36
Gladstone:........24
Brothers:..........4

Top 2 teams in both grades have next week off as finals start, here's the matches:

A grade

Gladstone vs Yeppoon, that could be fiery considering what's happened between these teams in the past, Gladstone will be confident at home though.

Reserve grade

Glenmore vs BITS, anybody's game.

Games will be played at Clinton Park, Gladstone next Saturday.

G'day all, here's the scores from the first semi final:

Gladstone Mudcrabs:.......19.14.(128)
Yeppoon Swans:.............10.2.(62)

Was close early on, but Gladstone went on to kick 13 goals in the 2nd half to Yeppoon's one, so a comfortable victory in the end.

In ressies, Glenmore defeated BITS 12.13.(85) to 7.5.(47), convincing victory for the Bulls.

This coming weekend is the major semis, winners go to the grand final, losers to play off against the winners of the first finals games. In A grade, Panthers play BITS in what looks to be an exciting game at Kele Park, Rockhampton. Panthers have won the 3 clashes this year but BITS have vast finals experience, so it'll be a true clash of the titans.

In reserve grade, Panthers play Yeppoon, hard to say what will happen, Yeppoon have won 2 of the 3 matches this year so they'll go in as favourites I'd say. Anyone's game really.

Matches are this Saturday at Kele Park, near the Rockhampton Airport, ressies at 12:45pm and A grade at 2:30pm.

BITS were close for a large chunk of the game, but Panthers quality won out. Joel Ralph getting 5 goals for the Panthers.

Reserve grade:

Yeppoon:....10.5.(65)

Close match from start to finish, Panthers just getting up in a thriller. Matty Hellyer and Steve Alley each getting 3 goals for Panthers.

What a day, Panthers finish the season undefeated. It was close for most of the game, the umpires were shite, but it was inevitable that Panthers would click into gear and run over BITS, it was just a question of when. In ressies Glenmore beat Panthers by 20 odd points. Panthers had their opportunities, but didn't pull it off against a Glenmore team that had an absolute shitload of A grade players in their lineup.

What a day, Panthers finish the season undefeated. Glenmore may have had some A grade players yesterday but at least their players were not stolen from other Capricornian Football Clubs. It cost Glenmore nothing for their Premiership, that can't be said for the Panthers.
