View Full Version : Finally got to see big Lynch live
I haven't been a great fan - he looked kind of gawky and unco on TV, and not really an impressive KPP to me.
Then I saw him live last night - very impressive: marking, kicking, work rate, second efforts and below his knees.
IIRC even some of you guys used to bag him - I presume he's improved?

I always knew he had a future. I didnt think it was a forward. Hes very athletic. No one realises that. Ive seen him in training outsprint Judd Kerr Cousins on many occassions. In a straight line hes one of if not the fastest in our team. For a KPP hes excellent below his knees.
ATM marking everything is fine. Kicking at goal needs to get better but that will come with practice

Yeah, but he started at CHB as I remember. Only shifted forward 2 years ago and copped a lot of criticism but I guess he was out of his depth at the time. Seems to have settled in a lot more now and is also prepared to find the footy rather than wait for it to come to him.

Work rate last night was O'Keefe like, if you know what I mean. All over the ground.

I believe he started out as a CHF, kicked a nice bag in his first or second game from there. Then he was moved to CHB, then he missed a lot of footy due to form, then he became our FF and here we are now.
At the moment I think CHF suits him best. It's kind of funny, all of a sudden we have Brown, Lynch, Hansen, Hunter, Staker and Graham to put into various spots along the spine. A few years ago there was nobody I really wanted anywhere.

I made a thread about this 2 weeks ago. The embarassment we have of talls atm is really the best ive ever seen at this club. Great mixture of youth and experience atm. Brown Hansen Staker Lynch. 4 tall forwards. Glass Hunter Graham McKenzie 4 tall defenders. Gonna be tough getting a gig in a few years time for KPPs.
I think the quality of talls we have atm shows by the fact that both Edwards and McDougall are playing for other clubs and Smithy just kicked 11 in the WAFL :)

IIRC he also holds the club record for his leap. The lad can jump too aswell as run his ass off.

By all means reduce your embarassment and send Hunter over to Footscray. ;)

hmm.... we were offered the "Big Unit" when trading Stenglien to WCE, we went for the 3 way Thompson deal.
perhaps should have gone the Lynch for Stenglien deal, as Thompson was coming home no matter what and Port wasnt were he was going.
could see him "taking it off" last GF day if we had him.......
ah well thems the breaks
