Eddie has been shown up a beauty...with 80 percent of readers of the herald sun recent phone poll saying they think he shouldnt be calling Collingwood games due to conflict of interest.
Power to the People - they have spoken. AFL wake up!
Tim Lane gets all the kudos..credit to him for having the balls to put up and shut up..
Its pretty disappointing that Eddie is taking cheap shots at Tim Lane and the ABC in the internet AFL streaming debate
Eddie McGuire has the best profile of all the presidents. He should not have to lose his professional employment because of his passion for Collingwood.
I say he should commentate. And why not!

As far as I am concerned I don't give a toss about the conflict of interest. Simple fact is that Eddie is a crap commentator at the best of times, and will be even worse when the spotlight is off at Collingwood games.
He should stick to doing what he is best at, and that is hosting the telecast. Leaving commentating to those that are good at it.

I would be embarassed to have Eddie as our president.
He should not commentate, as Moomba said, not because of any conflict but simply because there are better commentators in the land. (Tim Lane comes to mind....)
Also, his conflict does rear it's head, he blatently plugs everything to do with the Pies when ever he is hosting/commentating/interviewing at games. How many shots of Emirates where in the background in the Collingwood rooms? Every one. How many in the Tigers sponsors in their rooms? None.
He has sold out to commercial interests. You cannot believe anything has says anymore, especially when commentating as it must be prejudiced by his sponsors, various employers, official responsibility or other business interests to some degree. He has his fingers in too many pies.
