Hopefully he will be ok, would love to see Lions do well this year...

Good read. Even better to hear Tyler might make his debut! How nice would it be for him to earn Rising Star in his debut match? :D

I am hoping Proud gets a game in a few weeks. :)

No offence Sherm, But we NEED Roe for this St. Kilda Match.

Since Riewoldt doesn't appear to be playing, it may be best to rest Roe in the interest of getting his body right.

As for Tyler, would love to see him play a senior game, but would definitely rather see him up forward. Might get towelled up down back at this stage of his career.

Tell that to his hamstring.

i wouldn't risk it

its only round 2 for goodnesses sake - and id rather him miss 1-2 weeks than aggravate it and have him miss 4-6

PS: one of the few times i get a rowy artical and someone else posts it

If Roe misses the round, WHo will replace him?

Article mentions Matt Tyler.

That would make Wayde Mills a little concerned I'd reckon.

Mills didn't impress me in the NAB Cup. He was a bit to Clumbsy.

Yeah, he has struggled a bit since he was drafted. Will be considered a long term prospect from here... will be a Suncoast regular all year unless injury strikes the senior list.

Jacques Hadamard thread.

DOUBTS over the fitness of defender Jason Roe have thrown the
Brisbane Lions' match committee into chaos on the eve of tomorrow's Easter blockbuster at the Gabba.

Chaos? Blockbuster? All a bit emotive IMO. I can just see members of the match committee gliding over negative curvatures yelling Dont Panic in Corporal Jones type voices. As to it being a blockbuster. It is the 2nd game of the season. Yes I know that 1st plays 2nd:rolleyes: but this is taking it a bit far.

You need to rest Roe as a hammy isn't something you stuff around with, get him 100% before playing him. I look forward to seeing him back out on the park, he is a champ.

We as members/supporters etc share the same sentiment John, I can assure you. However to look at the flipside of this, those "theatre goers" that know nothing about our great team and game will be drawn into this "blockbuster" and add it to the amount of coverage we are getting for the Vossy farewell they can call it whatever they like from my point of view. If we can fill the gabba to capcity for this it is all good.

We briefly touched on this previously BD, I still think Wayde is our man. His kicking is "different" to say the least, but if the running wave out of the back line is to be used frequently, then, with Wayde's running ability, I see him as an ideal link man.. by hand.

And also agree with the Nick rumours, have heard he is up there (GC) with family and will not play.

I think they are trying to "up sell" John, where is the spruking Town Cryer? Have we got a deal for you, 1 v 2, and by chance we happen to have a few Corporate Boxes...... come one, come all........

Fair comments on selling the match. I guess they do not have to sell to me anyway ( he says as he is about to miss only his 4th game in about 10 years). A bit like selling me a case of the 05 Wynns Shiraz at $10 a bottle if I got a case a few weeks back. Even when it was bad, and it was not:), it was good at that price:). If I was going to "spruik" the game the Vossy farwell would be the go though. Even non AFL types know the great man.
