we actually didnt lose a pick for him
we actually didnt lose a pick for him
but in the draft the Saints still used a pick on him though, that is what I am saying. he is bad news. I would stay well clear of the clown if I was an AFL Club.
thank god I didn't get him in the afl dreamteam :thumbsu:

He's fallen away hugely since his good form in 2003.

I thought he showed glimpses last season before the car crash. With our ruck situation, was definitely worth the punt. I wouldn't write him off yet.

They downgraded a third or fourth round pick in the trade, so they didn't lose a pick. And at that end of the draft its a bit of a lottery anyway, so they really didn't lose anything. He seems to have got his head right, if he gets his body right it could be a very good move.
What injury is he carrying at the moment?

They have a few decent youngsters, they are taking a gamble with him, if it doesn't pay off it's not a big deal.

You wouldn't be saying that if you weren't a Saint's supporter.

Hasn't got a new injury, pulled up sore after his hitout with the Scorps. Will rest this weekend and play for Scorps next week.
As for wasting a dp. We basically got him and Birss for dp #43. So it didn't cost much.
Saints are taking a very cautious approach to his injury so he is right to play the majority of the season.

If he is injured all year he's still better than Cain Hackland.

From what we have seen this season i think you are wrong, Ackland is younger and wants to do the hard work and improve with his team, Gardiner is a tosser who through away a chance of a premeiership medallion because he cant make a correct decision for himself or his club, remember a leopard never changes its spots.

Ok, so we should expect Hackland to be at his fourth club by next year. Hackland threw away his chance at a Premiership medallion by joining Carlton.
Hope he goes well when he's right.
Yes he's screwed up a couple of times but hell who hasn't, if he wasn't a footballer no-one would know any of his history because it wouldnt be "news".
Easy for us to all criticise from behind a keyboard.

Gardi has had a full pre season. Upto I think a week or 2 before the NAB cup. The club then opted to have his hernia(in his groin) operated on. Im fairly confident it was a better now than later thought process. Now his playing a few games to get back into some match fitness. We shall see him round 5 or 6 is my tip.
As stated no picks were used or ''wasted''. If I remember correctly didn't Ackland come last in the Blue time trial over the summer, and Gibbs doubled back to run with him across the line, yet Ackland wants to put in the ''hard work''? Ackland is a ok player, but footy is far from his first prioity.

MrAaron is unhappy because Gardy didn't add him to his myspace page.

Even an unfit, injured, drug addled, drunk Michael Gardiner is 10 times the player Cain Hackland is

So Gardiner was better than Hackland in 2005 & 2006! ;)
