Stuart Law has resigned from the Queensland Bulls captaincy.

He said he will continue to play, but given his form in the last 12 months he might struggle to get a spot in such a strong lineup.

As for the new captain, i'd think that Jimmy Maher or Martin Love would be the frontrunners.

How about Matty Hayden? I reckon he'd be a good captain for the Bulls (or any side) with the great service he's given. I guess not being able to play 95% of the season due to international matches would be his only downside.

Thats the only reason why he wouldn't be considered.

Same reason Shane Warne has never captained Victoria.

Warne was captain a couple of years ago.He only captained a few games because he was playing for AUS most of the time.

3 months ago if you told me this I might've thought the ACB was putting some presure on them so they could get a look at Hayden for dozn the track. Now the ACB have shown their hand as to the next Test captain, they only want one captain and steve's only got a season left in him.

I'd go with Jimmy Maher but Symmonds could be a dark horse in there.

Also Gilchrist is captain of WA (with Katich as stand-in when Gilchrist has international duties).

Love or Maher would be good alternative captains for the Bulls if Hayden is overlooked.
