:thumbsu: Running around with a whistle in my hand bouncing the ball in the middle.St.Kilda City looked good next praccy should be a interesting encounter against Donvale. Now tell me the truth how many were you missing from your best side,I would have thought 3 maybe 4 but I stand to be corrected.:)

The ground is in really good shape at the moment, but 2 MPNFL clubs are apparently going to be using it as well as us, plus juniors, so a fair bit of wear and tear will result. I just hope council puts them under the same ridiculous rules as what they have put us under.
Can you believe after finally being given access to the ground last week we are not allowed to wear boots unless we are playing a praccy/ real game. In the first 2 nights we have been able to use the oval, players are having to be overly cautious when going flat out.
Potentially a great deal of damage could be done to players not wearing boots.
Have other clubs been put under the same stipulations or have the council in their own wisdom come up with this beauty?
Each venue should be judged on it's own merits, but these gutless wanna be public servant bureaucrats have taken the easy way out and put everyone under the same umbrella.
With no rain forecast for the next week, this situation does not look like improving any time soon.

Wachter Reserve in terrific nick unfortanetly for the pirates no one wants to play us in a practice match, why wouldnt any team want a confidence boost before the season proper? Oh well we will just have to play with ourselves on the best surface in any division right now

Only time i will agree with you Angry Pirate, as a former pirate the surface there is unsurpassed. Yeah and why would anyone want to play you? Your coach himself has said that numbers are poor all pre season so which club would take the chance of having PM's cancelled at the last minute?

Let me tell you something Junior, the angry pirate doesnt care too much for what the coach says or does, the angry pirate will bide his time and take over by seasons end you can bank on that. As a former pirate you do know how good the surface is and ill assure you that it is in as good a nick as i have ever seen.

Chelsea Heights is OK but will get better, council stuff up over late summer when they were allowed to water and thought it was coming on at night but wasn't.
Improved heaps in the last 2-3 weeks.

well, with round one upon us, how are the grounds looking?
could we have started 2 weeks ago or even last week?
round 2 doveton v cerberus @ navy base has been switched to doveton because of the state of the ground, any other examples of this?

M-Lion i may be giving my identity away but when i spoke to you about the condition of your ground i actually expected it to be better than ours. Greater dandenong council have been at best cautious with there grounds but Lyndale knows when we are in fact given the go-ahead our ground will be better for it. Dead set the amount of people running in slow motion made it look like a Baywatch set!:D
