Aaron Edwards (The Muffin Man)
About
Rookie-listed by the West Coast Eagles at the end of the 2002 season, after leading the TAC under-18s competition in goal-kicking with Dandenong, Edwards looked ready-made for the senior level. While small for a key position player, a strong leap and mark saw him thrive at both centre half-forward and centre half-back after a switch from West Perth to Swan Districts in the WAFL competition. He was elevated to make his debut in round 11, 2005 (replacing Beau Waters who had joined the long-term injury list), and starred with a blistering two-goal first quarter. However, Edwards struggled in the three games that followed and, after minor knee surgery, didn’t re-appear and was removed from the list at the end of 2005.
Played for the Frankston Dolphins the following year and broke his injury shackles to have a remarkable year winning both the liston trophy and topping the leauges goalkicking. Finds himself at the kangaroos now with a big chance to fill the void left by the injury to Nathan Thompson.
Aaron Edwards. Your time is now!
After not being selected last week, it appears that big muff has been named in the final 22 for this week.

how did everyone rate his game on the weekend, i thought he did pretty well considering how poorly the disposal was of our foward 50 entries
6/10, woulda been higher if he converted his shots on goal... he never stopped leading and actually chased hard out of the F50... WOuld've kicked peltnyful if not for the midfield stuffing around with it...

Bear in mind when giantroo gives his rating he automatically starts on 5/10 as soon as he's named on the team sheet.

In fairness to K.Green GR he is not a bad player, I just don't see his role at our club.
Thanks for the rating giantroo, but he's my man ;).. dont cry now dude. Personally I'd give him a 5/10, full points for effort but by no means dominated. Showed that he does have the potential to have a big say on a game and that he actually cares about his performance for the team. Thats more than I can say for alot of others the last few weeks. A change a luck will see him kick a bag, which im fairly confident he will do soon...
So i will save the 8/10 ranking for that game giantroo, i never was a premature ejaculator.

Was clearly our best up forward regardless of the amount og goals, or lack thereof, that he kicked.... I thought he did have a big say, his leads were made with plenty of presence and he demanded the ball, like we havent seen a North player do in some time... Ill give him a 6/10 but had he held on to a couple of those marks... An 8 or 9 wouldnt have been out of the equation...

He was excellent, was owed three more marks and a couple of goals I reckon.
I gave him a vote against the hawks because of his work ethic, keep firing Aaron, you're going to smash a bag soon.

loved his hunger - you could see it in his expression the way he was so frustrated towards the end of the match, leading him to polax that brissy player. go azza!

Hard to predict. I would say a bit better even though we might have little space with thommo back, edwards, boomer, shagga, thomas and jones in the forwards line - not to mention maybe petrie moving once in a while and campbell maybe going down there as well. We need to do some rearranging and IMO, get campbell out, he is pathetic.
Word is, the muffin man will return this week.
Still no return from big Azza. I get the feeling that he may not get be punished for not kicking a bag last week in the VFL in a side that lost by 20 goals. I still think he adds alot to our team and deserves another go based on the runs he put on the board prior to his injury.

get up there Azza!
aside from the obvious, his kicking looked really relaxed and focussed against hawks and it showed.
there's no reason this guy cant become like a brad johnson for us, his hands are brilliant and he loves a jump.

I think the Roos need to look at his kicking style. Whilst it is very straight, he seems to kick the bottom of the ball, rather then kicking through it, making the ball go very high in the air. If he got his kicking right, he will be a great player for the club.
Ah not much to report from the intra club. Azza was rather quiet.
Apart from this mark on a lead then pass to thompson: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZM9FID4QXU
I didnt see much of him.

Good question.
I'd like to think he would be close to fit and firing come finals.
Similiar return time as Hamish Mcintosh, I believe.
