The trailer has been released, movie should be out August.

I am a big fan of the Halloween series, and think this will probably suck. But I'll give it a go. I quite like the cast, Malcolm Mcdowell as Dr. Loomis.
Anyone else here a big fan of the Halloween series, or horror in general?

Oh god, this has ten car pile up written all over it.
The original is a masterclass in horror.
Rob Zombie has made two films to my knowledge, neither of which I enjoyed but I will admit he did show glimpses of talent.
No shock hes decided to stay in this genre, but why take on one of the most classic horror movies ever? Hes put himself in a no win situation really.
Heres hoping for something that doesn't diminish the original. C'mon Rob, surely the rights to Basket Case were available?

Yeh well said. The original is by far my favourite movie. It's a classic. Already by the trailer you can see Rob has gone too far. Michael used to be a mysterious character, and why he was so evil is unknown. In the remake, Zombie has him cutting up animals and getting off over his sister! :eek:
If this remake is going to be anything like the Black Christmas one, we're in for one terrible... terrible movie.

I was man enough to watch Halloween 3 from start to finish. Something you are too scared to achieve. :D

Only because I was told by a very good friend of mine that if I sat through the entire Halloween 3... it would turn me into a crazy Collingwood supporter, I am quite content with being a Carlton fan, and not watching Halloween 3

Only feral Carlton supporters (and Liverpool ferals for that matter :p) think Jason is better than Michael.
Comparing Michael and Jason is like comparing Judd and Livingston.

Well, you make a good point, except you have one fatal flaw.
Luke Livingston is the greatest ever AFL player, even better than Judd, so, in reality, you've just said that Jason is better than Michael, which I already knew to be the case but thanks for confirming it :p
What you should have said was...
It's like comparing Judd to Josh Kennedy (CFC variety).

Jason is a lil girl who got picked on as a kid and couldn't swim.
Michael is a real man. His mask is better too.
Hockey is a pathetic excuse of a sport.

Meh. I'll wait and see it before I judge it. But I'm not happy at it being remade. Halloween is a classic, already by the trailer I can see Zombie has screwed it. Michael tormenting animals, and touching his sister? :eek:
Good news from this movie is Danielle Harris does a nude scene. :D

Not that I don't like Jason. I rate the F13 series better than the Halloween series as a whole, but Michael is by far the better character. He's just more mysterious and evil.

At least Michael is human, not some... kind of demonic devil squid... thingy as shown in F13 #9. Wtf was that? :confused:
Jason struggled to beat Freddy. Had they made Michael vs. Freddy it would had to have been shown at a Short Film Festival, because Michael would have won in 30seconds. :cool:

The webmaster of halloweenseries.com has seen Rob Zombie's script was pretty impressed .. I guess there can be abig differnce from a script & what eventually appears on screen .. Here's his summary.
"From beginning to end, Rob Zombie's Halloween was amazing. The body count is huge, a lot of the scenes I read were terrifying and it manages to stay true to the original. Looking at all these terrible remakes that have been coming out lately and as I have said before, if Rob Zombie didn't do the remake then someone else eventually would, and now I'm sure as hell glad it's him. He's on our side trying to make a perfect film just as John Carpenter was doing 3 decades ago, and if the film plays as good as the script reads, I owe Rob Zombie an apology for ever doubting him"

Yeh I've been harsh on the movie already, but as I said, it's my favourite movie. I'm just scared it's going to be like the remake of Black Christmas (which is also one of my favourites). The 2006 version was just the worst movie I have ever seen.
As I also said, I'm impressed with the cast. I'm glad Danielle Harris got a role, I like the choice of Malcolm McDowell as Loomis and the inclusion of Brad Durif. Is out late August. Can't wait. :thumbsu:
