Remember watching this on Seven on a Sunday in 1992 when I was 10. Goals galore!

Saw some of this in the hospital visiting after my brother was born two days earlier.

Buck Rogers - Legend :thumbsu:

I do have the scorers of that match, too:

Geelong: Ablett 9.4, Brown 6.1, Forssman, Brownless 3.3, Riccardi, Stoneham 3.0, Bairstow 2.4, Scott 2.1, Poole 2.0, Wills, Darcy, Bews, Mensch 1.0, Rushed 0.1
Brisbane: Hutton 8.0, McLuckie 1.1, Kennedy, Shepherd 1.0, Windsor 0.3, Zanotti 0.2, Leslie, Palfreyman 0.1, Rushed 0.1

Best: Geelong: Ablett, Scott, Forssman, Handley, Poole, Stoneham
Brisbane: Hutton, Bain, Hamilton

was it a day game or a night game? 3rd May 1992?

Robert Walls said he refused to flood that game even if it meant conceding the record

even the graphics were easier to read then- straight to the point, nothing special.

i like how after the game people just ran on the field

here is Hawthorn vs Fitzroy 1991 (4th highest score) from North Hobart (note the 40m lines instead of 50m) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjgg30_vzQE

Was a 2pm game on a Sunday up at the Gold Coast, must have been very overcast late in the game.

ok

because i heard the game was a 2pm game but as there were so many goals especially in the final quarter (18 I think) the game went into the night.

How good was the AFL around 1991-93?? :thumbsu:

Ray Windsor ended up playing for for Central District.

That was the last match the Bears played at Carrara before the above match.

exactly right

this match HAW vs NM from 1993 showed that everything from the game to the crowd (with all the paper behind the goals), the umpires coat etc

The cut up phone books added to the spectacle; the umpires coat looked classy - it was recognised worldwide even; and the fence advertising at the MCG and TD I don't like at all. It makes things more bland.

I know, I wish the ground at the MCG on GF day can be as trashed with streamers and confetti like the GF's that you see on black and white footage from the 60s and 70s.
