Brent Stanton: Starred in todays game. Barely put a foot wrong. Played alot of the game starting from the centre, and I liked the look of it. He actually had a Judd-esque moment where he just broke out of a pack and delivered it long inside 50. Bloody awesome. His passing was pinpoint for the most part of the day too. A couple of times when we had no options really to kick to, Stanton made a perfect 50m pass down the wings to a leading player.
Also like to make mention of Winderlich. He is looking like our best midfielder at this stage IMO. He just runs and runs, and when he's buggered, he runs some more. His disposals have improved immesureably over the preseason. Add that to his pace and he cold be a genuine star of the comp by the years end.

Also like to add that McVeigh had a great game playing in the midfield. I hope all of his doubters that say he is better in defence stand up and take notice of this game.

You couldn't be more right, he was fantastic. His kicking has always been one of his greatest strengths and by playing more in the midfield and pushing forward it provides better delivery for Lloyd and Lucas and takes pressure off them to kick goals.

his best game in two years. took some great marks including the "SPECCIE!!!"
he provided some good run out of defence and his skills are very very good. he has a calm head on his shoulders and he is just looking great (minus the hair)
Dempsey
trained well today and it looks as if he is over his minor groin injury. i would expect him to play for bendigo this week
Would be great to see Dempsey push for a senior place, we'd be uncatchable

Lucas
A bit quiet early, certainly goal kicking wise, though he directly set up Lloyd for the first goal and then Stants later on. In the 2nd half he took over and ended up with 5 goals that in such a close game were very important. Seemed to have McPharlin following him around all day, so had a better opponent than last week. He was mindful of Lucas all day and so didn't fill the hole or provide the rebound from defence he usually does. Arguably B.O.G 2 weeks in a row. Handled himself very well On The Couch too.

NLM- Didnt play ones, i believe he played for bendigo this weekend.
nlm is injured and he didn't play for anybody

Andrew Lovett - Another solid game with some awesome runs through the middle. The pressure given by him, Davey and Jetta is awesome.

notice how i used the word BELIVE i dont follow the 2's as much as i used to and hadnt heard anything of an injury until today. When i used the word believe it was purely specualtion as i had not heard anything else and he was in the squad for the 2's named on the bombers website last friday.

Welsh got a 3 week injury as you all know. Sums it up pretty much.

This idea lasted a week lol
things will pick up when guys in the vfl put pressure on the senior guys. and if we start losing people will be calling for heads to roll

Well i'll keep posting my player watch every week so others can read up on stanton. I'll also add Winderlich to my watch list coz he's a star.
