Doing the Bigfooty Player of the Year is a huge task, and clearly too much for one person. So to help Jod out I'll accumulate the votes each round and put progressive leaderboard up in this thread each week. Keyser Soze will be keeping an independant vote count to ensure we are both accurate.
Hopefully Jod can get his act together and do the 2006 vote count sometime soon :cool:

From round 16 onwards I'll keep the votes secret so as not to reveal how the final medal count is shaping up, allowing Jod23 to hold a gala night at the end of the year.

A few rules for those who are voting:
1) I'm using the round 1 voting thread as the official registration for those who wish to participate in the voting. I'll give everyone until April 16th to get their rd1 votes in, after which I will not accept any new voters.

2) If you miss 3 rounds I will remove you and all your previous votes from the medal count. There are currently 48 voters, and its a real effort to tally up the votes each round. I'm eagerly looking for a reason to reduce the number of voters, so don't miss your votes or I will remove you.

3) The voting system is 5-4-3-2-1. No splitting of votes.

Thanks a lot D4E's. This would be my 6th year running the count and to be honest im all burnt out. I appreciate you stepping in and taking over but please make sure you dont abandon it. It is A LOT of work and if you dont have time which I have found difficult in the last two years then I dont want it falling to peices and it certainly has become a labour of love for me over the years.

The BFWCPOTY award is the premier award behind the Brownlow each and every year so it's important to keep it running. I have the counts from all previous years and each winners the final leaderboard from all previous years also. So perhaps we can refresh the memory of some by posting those up during the season.

I suppose I have a bit of a problem with the voting system ie. accumulating the actual number of votes. A guy who misses a couple of weeks can get smashed.

A system of 5-4-3-2-1 votes each round would have been my suggestion. So, for example, in Round 7 v Geelong, the final votes would have been:

whats happened to these two this year (obviousbly Embley injured a hell of a lot)??

their numbers are fine, which i know stats aren't everything but its all ive got to go off...

Hunter: per game, marks are up to 6 from 5.5, disposlas are up to 18.5 from 15 although he is handballing A LOT more (already more handpassed in 07 than in 06 but played 7 less games)... Goals are well down (is he not moving forward as much??), but tackles are well up.... and his free for to against ratio is much better..


Embley: Only played 7 games which is why he's so low, but his numbers are about the same as the would be every year except his goals are lower. would've expected more votes from 7 games but its hard to tell...

Hunter has had none to minimal impact this season with those stats.

Cheap marks and possies in the backhalf sharing with either Beau or Selwood across the backline. Little contested marking.

Radar is off this year (as with most :mad:) but hasnt been forward all too much.

Lacks the dash of HB we have been accustomed to the last 2 seasons in particular. Very stop-start.

Hopefully he turns it around this weekend!

Embers has been servicable but yes injury threatens to derail him often.

Another who will lift against a recent nemesis.
