McGlynn may come under scrutiny for his head high contact. Hopefully just a reprimand for the kid.
It was heated early. Lewis was getting into it.

Love it. How many times in recent years has the heat gone on and we have wilted and lost games by big margins. At long last the players are starting to display some grit, and the coaching staff are backing them to the hilt.
I drove 45km to watch that match (televised) & what i saw was a team attacking with so much ferocity the roo boys were s---ting themselves. how many turn overs did we create from our attack on the man? how many free's did we recieve from our attack on the man? The "undisciplined free's" we gave away were more an inditmant on the umpires than our so called undisciplined play.good on clarko for sticking up for his WINNERS.
For 2 weeks now they've played fast, direct, hard footy, I don't care how many free's we give away or how many games we lose this year if they play with that sort of commitment to each other & to us.:thumbsu::thumbsu:

The McGlynn hit and lewis incident were right in front of where i was sitting. Well done to jordan good to see he wasn't taking anything the roos were dishing out. The McGlynn incident there wasnt a replay at the ground but live it looked like he hit the roos player with his head over the ball but it looked to me like to roos player lifted his head just a mcglynn was coming in to tackle/bump him, that could save him, that and a lack of force.

I believe it was Mark Robinson (Essendon man). Jon Anderson is a Cat lover.

Everything looked fine. Hard and tough and the Roos were crapping themselves.
The stuff i saw on the weekend is the kind of stuff that's been happening to the Hawks for the last couple of years. I LOVED IT! Fierce and tough!

It was hard and tough and we tackled well and all that. However, let's be happy with the win but not the way we played (I know North had a bit to do with that).
The game plan was Ok but we really played an opposition that we should have thrashed. We made a lot of poor decisions and execution errors (as distinct from game style errors v Brisbane). We kicked 13 behinds that should have had at least another 8 goals kicked from relatively easy set shots.
I watched Carlton v Bombers and that was some kind of a game. I doubt if we would have been good enough (on yesterdays form only) to have beaten either of those sides on the weekend.
Still - it's good to be 2-1 (6 of past 7 including last season) and know that we won a game that we played very poorly in. I guess I am just being selfish because I believe it was only ourselves to blame for not gaining percentage last night.
Maybe I should be happy that our expectations have risen to the point that I walk away from a game we have won and I am not satisfied.:thumbsu:

Yeah it was Robinson. How touchy is he??? It's hilarious. On that Footy Confidential show recently, Malthouse pointed out that he's an Essendon fan, and he lost his mind, and then AC did the same in the interview, whilst trying to relate to him a story, rather than having a go at him, and again, he went to Defensive Town. It was quite humorous.
For what its worth, I think we currently have a good balance. Sure there are incidents where you think "boys, settle down, don't get reported", but it seemed to me, the instruction almost seemed to be "go in super hard at the start, then play the ball, leave your opponent with some questions in their mind when they attack the ball". After the first term, Hawks just attacked the footy and were very single minded.

I think it's hard to thrash a sie that plays so negatively from the start. The other problem is that Hawthorn is still working out how to bury a side. That's two weeks in a row that we've let comfortable leads slip, late in the game.
Kangaroos ain't push overs. There's a lot of talent there, still.

Really? That's nice.
i think that players like Harvey, Wells, McIntosh, Petri, Hale, Rawlings, Jones, Grant, Harris and a bunch of others are pretty damn good players. But hey, I don't want to stick up for 'em too much. That will do me! ;) Can't stand Kangaroos and their insipid coach.

Don't take offence, I just didn't agree with your comment.
In my opinion Harvey, Grant and Harris (maybe) are the only top liners amongst that group. Wells has that dirty word - potential. McIntosh and Hale have doen nothing, Petrie and Rawlings are solid citizens at absolute best and Jones is hit or miss.
