From the press conference -

"We still got a lot of entires, we still got a lot of shots of goal, and the only disappointing thing was we probably should have kicked some of the easy shots in the last quarter."

"One goal nine (behinds) is not the sort of way you want to finish a game."

We did drop some easy chances in the last qtr which we can't afford to do against quality opposition - this was dissapointing - we need the have the mental toughness to finish the job and not let up.

Maybe I am being a bit harsh but this has been a disappointing aspect of our game in the recent past - they need to fix it.

Not being harsh at all. Some of those misses were pure crapola. Probably just a case of not really applying themselves to it due to the one way nature of the game, but still you'd rather see them go through.

Right on the money. Traditionally, kicking for goal has been a problem for us.

We should have massacred them on the scoreboard today. We didn't.

I thought Mooney's miss was the worst. He was right in front!

Two in a row from Moons if memory serves correctly.

If Shannon Byrnes isn't practicing goal kicking from 40 out on the run at training, which he clearly is not, what the hell IS he doing? apart from signing autographs.

Agreed - he is so wasteful in front of goal. Frustrating.

Which is why Stokes will come in next week to sit at the feet of Hawkins.

Ideally he will also be able to lead up to HF and deliver to Hawkins/Nablett who will be leading from the square. Stokes can kick very very well. Byrnes cannot.

Must go back to the VFL, Byrnes. Must.

Yeah Mooney had a shocker in front of the big sticks, but he isn't nomally that bad and the misses weren't that important. It was largely just how things go. In the 2nd quarter we kicked six straight, the fourth evened that up.
