View Full Version : What are your chances?
Hey guys.
I have not seen enough of StKilda this year to make a definitive call on this game.
Saw some of the Brissy game and you were very ordinary but that's only one game and you have obviously played well to beat Melbourne and the Doggies.
We have been on FTA a couple of times, so i assume you may have seen a bit of us.
I'm still in a considerable amount of pain after Saturday but we get another crack this week so i hope they can get over last week.
I think we will match up quite well with you and possibly cause you some problems with your recent injuries in your defense.
It's a 50/50 for mine.....how do you guys see it?

Could go either way...........we can't really match your forward line, but you guys lost to carlton, we could smash you in the midfield, but then again you defence is pretty awsome.
Im tipping the saints purely because im a saints supporter and biased about this game.
If i was putting money on it... I'd go essendon because they are at $2.40 which aint to shabby....

I'm very nervous about this game because I think we'll struggle to match up on Essendon's forwards.
Johns kicked a massive bag for Bendigo, so he'll definately be in to stretch our lack of quality height down back.
Unfortunately G-Train's brain explosion couldn't have been more poorly timed, because we needed him to play up forward so Kosi could take Lucas. Now I'm not really sure how we'll line up.
Like most matches, it will be won and lost in the midfield. If Essendon can win the clearances and provide Lloyd and Lucas with quality service, I think they'll win.
The winner of the midfield battle should win the game. With enough supply either forward line should be able to kick a winning score.
Saints in a close one for mine. :p

Hey guys, i was just wondering, if kosi lines up at ff and riewoldt at chf, who will line up one lloyd, lucas and possibly Johns (who kicked 7 in the VFL ). Fisher will take Lloyd (i think) but who will take the other 2?

I've seen that same question asked on 2 other threads and no one has offered an answer. I'm thinking Brett Voss could come in to play forward ans Kosi will go back, but then that's just a theory. I also havent seen much of the saints so far.

There was a bit of a discussion in this thread (http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/showthread.php?t=316537) on the main board.
If our midfield and forward line functions in a similar way to what it did on Saturday then we'd have to be a big chance to win the game but I do have a few concerns as to how we'll stop your forwards. With Max and Maguire out of the team we may have to throw Kosi back but that will depend on if we're winning. The loss of Gehrig won't help on that front but it does give a chance to somebody like Voss who could consider himself unlucky to be out of the team.
To answer the question Sam Fisher should take Lloyd and Blake or Goddard will get first crack at the other two. If the other night is anything to go by we'll hopefully get it into the forward line quick and let Riewoldt and Kosi do their stuff. The inclusion of Ball will make a big difference as well.
Looks like Ball will miss another game.

Really happen to see the saints bounce bag against the bulldogs. I felt st.kilda were playing like a bottom four team against the lions in the later parts of the game. It's just that GABBA sydrome - we never play our best over there. Hopefully we won't be playing any finals at the Gabba (really do)

People are talking about Blake being on Lucas. Is he the guy that handballs alot? not bagging him or anything, just want to know if iv'e got the right bloke on my mind.

That will be a contrast!

I see some similarities with me tipping St Kilda games:
Melbourne
St Kilda
Bulldogs
St Kilda (to reverse the trend ;))
