I think it's fair to say his comments regarding Headland's 6 year old daughter has tainted his image.
Do you still respect him?
I think it's fair to say that the alleged comments allegedly regarding Headland's alleged 6 year old daughter has allegedly tainted his image.
I still respect him as I don't believe he said what he has been alleged to have said.
However, if the allegations turn out to be true, I will not respect him at all.

Plenty of witnesses sock puppet
Who are these witnesses?
How did Selwood not get reported for that eye gouge. Unbelievable. :)
Who are these witnesses?
Maybe some of the players around the two when it was said.

Spot on
Maybe some of the players around the two when it was said.
They hardly count as witnesses.
Hypothetically, If Selwood did make the alleged remarks.
- Dockers Players/Runners will run with Des's story
- Eagles Players/Runners will run with Adam's story.
It's no different to just Adam v Des themselves.
Anyway, I'm not going to crucify Adam and drag his name through the mud just yet. It hasn't been proven.
If it is proven, I will run with the scum/dirty dog line, but until then I'll presume he's innocent.

The real question should be:
Do you respect Mark Waugh, Shane Warne, Glenn McGrath and other "champion" Austrlalian cricketers who have been proven to have said much worse.
We don't know what Selwood said yet.

Other than Judd and maybe Glass I don't really respect any of the senior West Coast Eagles players right now. Their pathetic adolesent behaviour and party boy attitude has done some serious damage to the AFL brand Australia wide. They should be ashamed of themselves but they act like they couldn't care less :thumbsd:

What do you expect? There are plenty of Eagles supporters out there who believe its perfectly alright to Cousins to do drugs, for Kerr to beat up taxi drivers, for Fletcher to OD while on a footy trip, and that's its all a Victorian conspiracy. They'd probably let their players get away with murder.
if u see adam in the street please, please, please don't punch his lights out as it may be his twin brother troy who plays for brisbane. He is currently injured with back problems or something but we desperately need him to be fit as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance.:)

I don't especially remember reading this. However, I'm sure it's present.
If he is found out to have called his daughter a ****, then he should be hauled over hot coals and subject to substantial punishment.
Not quite as severe as Des Headland's nutcase father was suggesting, but severe punishments would be in order.

He'll get a fine at most, and that's all he should get no matter how distasteful it might seem.

I agree with the innocent till proven guilty line, but those comments really sicken me a bit. I know it has probably been copied and pasted about a bit, but just incase people are unaware of the 'current' allegations.
Selwood 'I F****d her last night'
Headland 'Who? thats my 6 year old daughter'
Selwood 'Yeah, shes a sl*t'
As reported on Footy Classified.

My opinion on the alleged slurs is that they are disgraceful and sick. And that the allegations are extremely serious, with the potential to ruin Adam Selwood's image and consign his career to the scrap heap.
It is a huge price to pay. There must be little or no resulting doubt for him to be found guilty. Personally, I have no concrete reason to believe with any certainty that he said these things.
Like I mentioned in another thread, I really hope this is a misunderstanding.

And who wouldn't it sicken? And no, not the WC fans who are giving Selwood a chance to tell his side of the story. Imagine that  I'm sure no other club would try to do the same. And to those neutral supporters here who are like that, well done :thumbsu: I'd be doing the same if it was one of your players.

Just to defend the indefensible, he probably wouldn't have known who she was when he made the first comment. Just some girl.

Exactly
However, as a footy player I would still respect him if he tries hard
But if the alledged comments are ture, then he doesnt have my respect as a human being if he knew it was Des's daughter (as Des claims he did)

Anything goes on the footy field. If it is going to put Des Headland off his game why not say it? If it was said on the street it would not be acceptable but this is a professional sporting arena. Headland is a goose!

Exactly, I have heard worse things said in country footy. As if Adam Selwood would actually mean anything along those lines. He was just doing anything to put Dezzy off his game and it worked.

I hope he didn't make those remarks because if he did, he should have realised he crossed the line and apolgised immediately. The look on his (Selwood's) face when Headland was arking up leads me to believe he said something similar to what is being reported. That smug look of accomplishment told the story IMO.
FWIW I hope Des has misheard him, but I suppose we probably we never really know (Unless Selwood admits to making the remarks)

I agree, I have heard worse things out on the field but I still don't understand how people can say such disgusting things about people they probably don't even know. I know it's a 'mental disintegration' tactic in many cases, but still poor form and reflects badly on the person making the comments IMO.

If the comments posted in this thread and elsewhere are true and I believe they are. The chances are good that Des did not make it up. Sometimes proof is not needed, many juries make a decision based on evidence without concrete proof. If it makes common sense then chances are it's true.
If so how could anyone respect him as a person? The alleged comments are disgusting and could label Selwood as a paedophile for the rest of his life. I know I wouldn't let him near any young female relatives of mine.

If he did say it, then he is a d*ckhead for doing so, but to think that he actually would mean something like that is stupid. All he was trying to do was get inside Des' head, but went to far (if he said it). He wouldn't have thought about what he was saying, he is not a paedophile, just a footballer saying stupid sh*t without thinking before hand. I believe he will become a better person because of this (if he said it or not).

He's a good kid. I don't have an issue at all with what he said. Warney would have said worse than that and Warne is the closest thing we have to royalty. It was a sledge, people need to relax a little. I'm sure Selwood didn't sleep with Des's daughter and I'm sure she isn't a ****, if she was then it might be a little close to home. The whole point of a sledge is to put a player off his game, mission accomplished.
I can't beleive peoples reactions to this.

I agree
If someone said that to me playing you would just laugh at them and call them a d... H..... but he obviously knew Headland would bite and did so.
Caroline Wilson reckons it was a worse sledge than when Montgomery said to Rama has the kemo fried you brain?...... but i don't think so.

Define respect. As far as I'm concerned, you're innocent until proven guilty.
Who would do that though? Not even Steven Milne, and I say that in a nice way.
However, if it was a sledge, I would tell it as it is and not deny the allegations - the truth must be revealed.
