...has just turned the match with a great spell of bowling.

How things change within a month or two.

Great stuff Hoggy.

It's only some victorians who rate White ahead of Hogg. REAL cricket fans know Hogg is the better bowler.

Not all Victorians. White is overrated to the max. Arrogant and well and truely ahead of himself.

White has potential.

Hoggy is just a gun, who has more than fulfilled his potential.

I'm sure mcphee and eddie will conveniently revert back to the argument that they "were'nt competing for the same position".

Hogg >>>>> Stale, dry chicken >>>>>> White. I bet the Vics are hating it even though Australia are winning and Hoggy is starring, I've noticed a few people bitching about Aussie selections still "omg that should be White he'z heeps gd"

Why are we comparing a batsman to a bowler?

true, if white wants to become an all rounder he needs to work on his batting

Exactly. Even Hogg can come out and hit 15 from 10 balls which is all White can do.
Neither Hogg or White can build an innings, but Hogg doesn't have to because he can actually bowl.

He was always going to be a crucial cog in the WC defense.

He actually bowled pretty well in the last home ODI season, just didn't get the figures. His flight and control was excellent, just wasn't getting enough spin out of the pitches.

He looks super confident and that dismissal of Jayawardene was brilliant bowling... beaten neck and crop by a beautiful wrongun.

Hogg is a gun. One of the most underrated bowlers I reckon.
Super fit as well.

Some of the ridiculous things said about Hogg during the Aus summer were overboard and downright disgraceful, considering the comments were somewhere along the lines of him being only a decent grade cricket bowler.

He is one of the best ODI spinners in the world and has proven so for years. Sadly some nuff-nuffs are too blind to see it all this time

Only Western Australians ever claimed they were, how a no7 batsman who can bowl was competing with a bowler still confuses me

Never had Hogg and White competing for the same spot, was actually against Hogg not being in the side for most of the Com Bank series.

I rated White as a good option as a pinch hitter batting at #7. With Symonds, Clarke and the four bowlers, I still think batting is a higher priority at 7 than bowling.

Have a few players ahead of White in that possie now, sad that majority here view changing your mind as a sign of stupidity. Even at my peak rating iof White, I still rated Hogg as a superior player.

Either way, NEVER competing for same spot.

I'm a Vic who likes White and I still get annoyed by anyone who thinks like that. I do think it's a bit rich though coming from a guy that can't see fault in Shaun Tait. Love doing the cult hero worshipping myself, but you go into genuine psycho net nerd mode when anyone questions Tait.

Never competiting for the same spot, but never in the team together. Funny that.

Not surprising though given the rotational door selection policy last year.

They should not have been competing for the same stop, just because selectors thought so does not make it right. Don't really see any problems with having them in the same side if White warranted selection (which he obviously does not).

But they were.

White was competing with Watson. Took over his role at 7 when he was fit.
