Was watching On The Couch last night at the panel brought up an interesting comparison on who they thought was the best Adelaide player of all time. This is an interesting one and having a look at what Andrew McLeod's has achieved over his career showed how consistant he has been. Ricciuto on the other had i believe is a more damaging player so its an interesting 1. Your thoughts.

which of these two doesnt have a brownlow medal? macleod might have two norm smiths, but thats two good games. how many good games over the course of a season did roo have when he won his brownlow? ricciuto for me
Roo has been much more consistent. Played more good games, has dominated for a lot longer too.

Roo for me
not only is he a hard at it midfielder and one of the best - hence his brownlow, but he can also go forward and be either a leading forward or someone who can take a contested mark such is his strength. to go with this he's a top notch leader. almost a complete package.

Both absolute champions of the game, hard to split but I'm gonna have to say Roo just by the width of one of my pubic hairs.

Just because Ricciuto has kicked 5 in the past doesn't mean he is a forward capable of easily kicking 5. He is predominantly a midfielder who has been played at full forward at times in the latter stages of his career - as with many gun midfielders.
Also, McLeod is a HBF NOW, though he was very much a dynamic and damaging midfielder in his prime.
I think this poll is a lot closer than most people are suggesting. Both players are champions - a three way brownlow to Ricciuto and 2 norm smith medals to McLeod are testiment to this. Personally, if they were both at their best I would prefer Mcleod - he is more damaging in my opinion with his pace, evasive skills and sublime skills.
And remember - though Riciutto has been more even over the course of his career, McLeod is a proven big game player, and thus is hardly inconsistent.
