Hey all. Just thought I'd let you know we are organising the tickets and functions for the game against Brisbane at the Gabba on May 12th. I have a block of tickets in sections 30/31 (rows d-s) and also behind the goals (eastern end). We are having our post-match function at the Brisbane German Club on Vulture street (directly opposite gate 4) and are pleased to advise that our very popular breakfast will also run on the Sunday morning. Guest speakers include Neil Craig (and two players) as well as the opportunity to get photo's/autographs with the WHOLE team.

If you are coming up to Brisbane and want tickets to any of the above, please let me know.

I did the Brisbane trip last year and can highly recommend both functions, especially the breakfast. The interview with Craig and the players was top notch as I have told Jenny before.

Just hope that there is not the rain like last time (although I think most people in Brisbane would welcome it greatly ;) ) Lucky I took my mum's bright yellow 'yes I am directing traffic after the game' rain gear :o made me easy to spot on the replay! :D

How much should someone like me expect to pay for one of those?

$20 - $30? hopefully no more than $50. :D

LOL at the brawl - if that's what curls your toes! ;)

Nope, no post match at Cararra - only one venue available and the home team (Kangas) have that booked. Nothing else within cooee of the ground to hold a post-match. Club wasn't too keen on having one either I have to say. Last year they flew out straight away, although this is a night game so they have to stay over night.

Bit disappointing they don't seem to want to develop their coast supporters (and there are a heap - who all make the trek up to Brissie for the game at the Gabba).

It would be pretty silly of them to ignore their QLD supporters group, they'll probably arrange something in time for the trip.

Actually, no, I organise the functions in QLD. The Club looks after us very well when they come to Brisbane - we have the post match function (attended by 3 players) and the breakfast the following morning (with Coach and two senior players as guest speakers) AND the whole team for photo's and autographs.

Last year when we played at Cararra, the boys actually voted to go home rather than stay the night so they were whisked away as soon as they'd showered. No time for a function there. This year, although there is time (ie. they are staying overnight) there is no venue close enough (within walking distance) for supporters to go to.

I think you will find that each Supporters group organises their functions in their State and except for Melbourne, we all volunteer our services. Not only do we do block bookings for game tickets (which is VERY involved - last year I sold close to 500 tickets, this year cruising past the 200 mark as well as 100 plus for the breakfast), but we organise the functions/venue's/menu's etc. and then we host the function - do seating plans, make sure everyone gets their food, sell raffle tickets, interview players/coach etc etc etc.

I was actually referring to the Club perhaps not nurturing the Gold Coast members as much as they could do.

Bugger... I suppose the Southport FC is out of the question for Adelaide, don't the Roos have some arrangement with them?

Apologies, I always believed that the club arranged post match stuff. Still looking at possibly coming up for the match, would like to sit with fellow Adelaide supporters.

As far as I know the Roos have the only venue available for a post match function at the ground (the basketball stadium). Southport FC is a good 15 minutes drive away from the ground and the traffic (particularly after a game) would be horrendous. Experience tells us, unless the venue is within walking distance, people won't come. Besides, Southport are like Port Adelaide and I'd prefer to eat glass than go to their club rooms! ;) :D

If you want to come to the Gabba, need to let us know soon - our "official" booking has to be in on Thurs next week (which means we have to have payment by then) but I managed to get an extension on our ticket allocation to cater for stragglers which gives us to the 5th.
