Did you guys catch this yesterday night?

I thought it was a great show. Some acts were let downs, but for the most part they were hilarious.

Loved the whole 'floating' bit with Jason Byrne.

Dave Hughes was good as always.. "My wife loves to cry, and i have the ability to make that happen" :D

The Welsh guy was great too. Wierd style, seemed like he was on Ice and his Ice was on Ice, but he was seriously funny. "I don't want a TV in my phone for the same reason i don't take a dump in my tumbledrier" :D

"Sent a text to the person the text is about" had its moments, pretty funny skit.

"I'm too old to be sliding naked along the floor on a Lemington" wasn't a bad clip.

"We're the ones with the WMD" was a very smart routine.

"Then my mother said: "everybody in this hot-tub has sucked on my nipples", and i was like MOM theres two dogs in here".. :D :D Propably my best moment, anybody know this guys name?

On the down side, didn't like Tim Minchin, Tripod, Wil Anderson, and that Pussy/Boob woman.

The SMS bit was good. I usually hate musical comedy, ala Tripod and SWLG, but he was class.

I usually don't find the women that funny either but the Persian was very good.

The Irish guys + Hughes were the best IMO. That bloke from Father Ted doesn't even have to try to get me laughing.

I was lucky enough to go see Dave Hughes and Stephen K Amos last week, both great gigs, Hughes maybe just shading it.

Missed the Gala, had to leave town, but got it taped so will have a look later, sounds like Hughes used much of the same material.

Russell Howard I think his name is. F***ing hilarious.

"That seems to be the English way, you're afraid of dogs? We'll buy you a dog! Now what's this about anal rape? No dad I'm fine!".

:D :D :D

That Keating group was crap:thumbsd:

The Persian lady was great as well.

Dave Hughes' line with "on Easter I just sit on the couch, eat chocolate and watch the road toll climb!"

Fiona Oloughlin is the biggest tart (and there are many of them, Kate Langbrook, Tracy Bartram etc...) to ever be called a comedian. She's everything that's wrong with a woman. She talks, is never funny, talks about her kids, has flabby arms, and neglects her family to make fun of them to strangers.

Also musical comedy is the biggest crock of poo, cept for the DO'D, liked his song, FAQ for the DOD is the best though.

Welsh guy was funny (oh, uh oh is how to remember to call 000 after an accident), Dave Hughes is always solid,

For most of the English comedians, look up Mock the Week on Youtube. Some very very funny stuff.

Tim Minchin is incredible and is probably in the top couple most talented comedians on the Aussie and European circuits

SKA is great, but he wasn't that good last night, which is surprising because last year he was propably the best. Loved his show though, bloody awesome.

Mark Watson was hilarious to. I find it funny how good he is at the Welsh accent when he doesn't speak like that normally, just of Welsh decent.

Couldnt agree more.....

Im not usually a fan of singing comedians, but Tim Minchin and O Doherty's routine (or part there of) were good on Gala night.. I really enjoyed it...

Hughes - solid again, liked his routine, but im a sucker for an oldie - SNAKES ALIVE Hughesy....

Oh and also i forget the little American dudes name who is usually on these Comedy Galas... His young, short wears a cap and glasses with a white top and baggy jeans... Gotta be one of the funniest comedians i have seen...

Though i forget his name, and am unable to find it anywhere... Does anyone know who im talking about..

That Canadian bloke was a huge disappointment. When I hear "international comedian" and "Perrier award winner" I expect to be seriously amused.

Then he comes on and sings that pathetic song about "the clowns nose is broken..."? What a load of crud.

Russell Howard quickley becoming one of the best comedians in town.
