why?
because you have 15 blokes on footy scholarships.......

hailebury will win due to skevies lack of experience and hailebury's scholarships. this game will test st kevins and see where they really are in regards to the APS. st kevins have a lot of young guns and itll be interesting to see who steps up. i rekon cachia will play a blinder...in top form atm. i rekon tama and tommy mcdermot will have big ones, along with kennedy and macarthy. i think luke andrews mite get a tagging role. scotty newman will be the player that hailebury shud be worried about. sure to have a big 1.

cant wait to see castricum ruck, see how he handles it. possibly 7 yr10s to play in an APS game, thatd have to be some sought of record wouldnt it be? if you want to see some of the states top young guns, get down to this game!!!

i think hailebury by about 4 goals, dont be surprised if its a lot closer and skevs cause an absolute boilova in round 1!!!

7 year 10s?? I dont think there will be that many. 3 or 4 at most i think

griffo, castricum, purcell, cachia, scully, broadhurst and ziebell

not sure if theyll all play but its a chance

Oh right geez i thought you meant just from skevs! But yeh, broadhurst will depend on the next few praccys, he's no certainty yet. Havent seen much of griffo or purcell yet so cant comment on them.

you can almost certainly add millard, jackson and meehan to that list of year 10's. And no haileybury wont rush him back. If his OP is gone he will play. Naturally fit and will run all day.

talked to him tuesday.
he is nearly a certainty not to play, has been running lately but still wasnt able to kick.
hopefully back for round 3 as he will miss round 2 due to another commitment.

I was at the game and to be honest i know sweet f'all about most APS players. I have a cuz who plays for Skevs so i went down to have a look...

Got their about halfway through the 2nd quarter: players that impressed me for skevs were

Cachia he wore number 8 right? skevs kicked about 4 or 5 in a row towards the end of the 2nd and cac was giving them plenty of drive through the midfield. Played the 2nd half in the last line of defence, shanked some kicks and thought he should have been thrown back into the guts.

Newman is a gun, nuff said, everyone knows that.

number 2 a little rover, seems like a pretty smart player.

and number 4 up forward, a little guy but reads the ball in the air well and knows where the goals are

for HB

number 6 in the midfield is classy, ran himself into the ground and number 1 is very quick with the ball, got a lot of skill.

sorry guys, like i said i dont know many names and i was watching skevs more than HB.

On the whole Skevs midfield was harder at the ball and out ran HB. I think they may surprise a few more of the fancied teams

HB were done by Skevs, and all the talk about scholarships how many each team have got, when it comes down to it it's how the team performs on the field, you can have 25 Scholarship blokes on your team but if they dont work as one not saying either of these teams dont great blokes and great teams but isn't the say A champion team is better than a team of champions??

all in all great game by both teams, skevs just coming out on top good luck to both teams:thumbsu:
