How you going lads. Dal has been a bit quiet so far this season don't you think? Is he struggling to take a tag or is the skills machine just warming to the occasion ready for a big one? Cheers

He had a very solid game against the Doggies; 20+ possessions and many stoppage wins. Disposal as usual first class.
He's just warming up! :D

mate i hardly think he has had a quiet one. he has been one of our highest scorers if not the highest. 1st game was average by his standards but stil solid, 2nd game was a great game fr him i thought and 3rd game was a decent game by his standards. but i do hope he is stil warming up for a big one:)

He's been pretty bad so far this season. At least, when compared to my expectations for him.
I love Dal more than life itself, but he doesn't cope well with tags and so he'll keep getting very tightly checked - especially while he's our number one midfielder. (Hayes unfit, Ball out, Harvs old.) Can't wait until Ball and Hayes get back into form and hopefully X or Goddard establish themselves in there, to take some of the heat off him.
We've all seen him do those magical things - a season full of them and he's a Brownlow shoe-in. But he's just not doing them right now.

Dal is such a talent that even with a tag each week he still dominates our midfield stats. He will benefit greatly from the inclusion of Luke Ball - especially if Luke starts ripping them a new one. I can't wait 'til Lenny and Luke are back to their best.
Dal might never get a tag-free game but he might get less of it if there are more targets to tag - then he will really start to shine.

Hopefully he can wait a week to start starring. Also, Luke Ball should surely wait an extra week, just to make sure he is all good... well maybe I'm dreaming, but I'm allowed to do that.

Dal santo cant cope with the tags he is getting, he is an outside runner who needs the ball given to him on the run, he is being tag each week, and isnt coping with it, thats the difference between him being a superstar, and just a good player. Dont get me wrong, Dal is a good footballer, but he will never be a superstar like a harvey or judd, cos he cant handle being tagged.

I doubt that you are a St Kilda supporter - your IP address gives you away.
Please give us a comment about the West Coast scumbags - that you would be more qualified to comment upon (as you probably would have seen them play).

Yeah, the comment wreaks of somebody who hasn't seen much of him.

It felt like every disposal he had hurt us, his skills are so good.

Yep. Peverill was his direct opponent and had maybe 10 more touches, but was lucky to do half as much damage with his 30 odd.

Pev did plenty dont worry about that..maybe you looked away when he was extracting the pill and snapping goals. You will do well to keep Dal Santo come years end i reckon..

Would be massive if he left.
Chance one of G-Train or Hamill calling it quits for whatever reason, so I think we should be able to afford him...
In ordere for Dal to be regarded as a premier midfielder in the AFL he needs to do 2 things....
1. Have a defensive side to his game. You cant let Peverill have 30 + possessions. He's an ordinary player and carved us up.
2. If he's getting tagged heavily needs to do other things to make an impact.
I am a massive Dal Santo fan, but for all his talents i personally think he has to many negatives (but they are negatives he can fix. Not like your Peverill's of the world who are just shit!). If you could give Dal Luke Ball's hardness and give Luke Ball Dal's poise and kicking precision you would have a midfield that could be called Premiership capable.
