i would take selwood because of massive leadership potential and the fact that he he came straight into the afl system after playing 2 years ago but others would argue otherwise
You could substitute Gibbs' name into that sentence, and it would still hold true.
Seriously though, I don't know why this is relevant to us. It's not as though we had the choice of picking up Gibbs.

What are you talking about? Gibbs is already a leader at Carlton.
It's too early to even compare them. At the moment they are playing different roles too. Gibbs is too small to play in the midfield, so is playing a loose defender role, while Selwood is playing off the wing and doing a bit of contested stuff too.
Carlton have a much weaker list than Geelong at this point, and is relying heavily on Gibbs to perform in the future. He is no leader at this stage, I don't care if they made him part of the leadership group.
Gibbs will win the rising star award too, why? because he will play every game and Selwood won't.

Who got the rising star nomination for Rd.1? I know it wasn't Gibbs. Wood got
Rd.2, and Hawkins got Rd.3.

Who cares, they're both going to be gun players for years to come. Great signs from the both of them thus far and both teams would be very happy with their pick-ups.
Who gives a f**k ?
We're happy with Selwood and I gather Blues supporters are happy with Gibbs.

Exactly, nobody at either club is going to want to swap.

easy girls, he's justtrying to stimulate discussion. If you don't want to discuss then simply, f**k off.
I'm sure it'd be a win-win situation either way. Both players will be guns in a few years.

Hard to discuss players that haven't played enough games to really discuss them yet. The games they have played they've both been good. They both fill roles at their given clubs and with what they've shown so far they'll both be a-grade players in the years to come. All what's left to discuss is "I like my player better because he plays for my team". If you can give me an angle that hasn't been discussed on these two players already that warrants discussion then count me in :)

Plenty of high draft picks end up being nothing but average players at best. Give it 2 years.

This is a solid draft. These players will both be solid contributors.
