Just posted a message on him in another thread. Awful today, I'm aware it was his first game back but I really don't see him improving much. Really hope Ottens is fit so he can come straight back in for King.

He wasn't that bad. Certainly better than some of his efforts last year.

He was that bad. I'd love to see our scores while Blake was on as opposed to when King was on.

It is now official.

Blake > King.

It was a poor performance, let's face it. Compared to some of his team-mates, pehaps it wasn't that bad. But compared with last year, please !!!

Terrible today. Blake offered far more in the ruck and around the ground. His mistake which gave Crawford the goal was momentum turning.

The issue now is that the club has made its bed and now it must lie in it. They selected King and they will never drop him. He will only exit the team via injury or retirement and since neither is likely this week we will have to endure his weaknesses again.

If Blake is dropped at King's expense that is the end of my following the GFC.

I have always been a fan of King, but I have to agree that his game today was shizenhausen. Blake has passed him and the Cats looked far more competitive with Blake in the Ruck than King.

King wont get dropped which is a shame.

Get off it mate. This guy is like Byrnes and Gardiner. Play all right when we win, but cost us matches when the games are tight and they cant handle the pressure. I swear to god, he cost us the match, not only In his crappy ruck work but when we had the momentum in the last quarter he hand passed to Crawford and the rest is history. The moron dosn't even chase when a players near him with the ball.

great handball from kingy today straight in the hands of crawford who then runs into the open goal and cuts the margin from 9 points to 3 and gives hawthorn all the momentum to run over the top of us...:thumbsd: please just do us all a favour and retire because we know ur not going to get dropped..

hopefully ottens will be back next week, the blake/ottens combo is as good as its going to get. Mooney should have been played more on the ball, rather than just being an ornament in the fwd line.

Oh I actually forgot about that one. The one I had in mind was the one a minute or two before the end where he marked it out of the ruck contest and handballed too hard to someone and it went over the boundary in our forward line.

King is passed his used by date.
I would rather play West, even though he is not ready or through Mooney in there if Ottens does not play.
You would think that the club could see what we all can.

He will play another 2 games , then be injured and so on.
Lets not keep goining on with the same crap, we would have been better of keeping Street and he is no good.

As soon as I saw that S.King was in the side, I knew we were going to lose. I'd have had preferred to have Mooney pinch-hitting in the ruck instead of having King back in the side. Either that or let West have a run.

Geez you guys are harsh. At least give him a bit of leeway, after all it was his first game back. I'd like to see him have one or two more outings in the 2s before I right him off. Blake has improved, but he still has a fair way to go.

But what would I know, I'd have had "Dog" playing today, instead of penalising the side by having him run around in the 2's. Reckon he would have made the difference. And judging by Balmies luke warm comments about continuing the ban in the Hun today, he agrees with me.

get off kings back!
so ling plays better, everyone finds a need to bag Kings game.
his first game back, you all should treat a former captain with more respect.
first to bag someone when they have a shit game, first to talk up a shit **** aka charlie gardner after a half arsed game. pull ur heads in.
If n e 1 thinks blake is better than king ur not a tru geelong follower.

Forget leeway - he simply wasn't up to it and made a critical mistake that turned the game and helped us lose the f**king match.

Drop the useless git and bring in a ruckman worth his spot. Because at the moment he isn't it.

That is where you are wrong. Clearly Blake had far more impact today.

Nice username though.

Kingy, you can still save face mate!! Instead of being unceremoniously dumped from the team, which is what you deserve, you can just say you've picked up an injury! You've been injured so much no one in their right mind would dare question you.
See, it's win-win. Geelong can cast off a dud and you can return to your natural habitat of the medical room without further embarrassing yourself!

That piece of work literaly cost us the match today.
If he ever had any love for this jumper he wore today, he would retire and not hurt the club any further.

the main issue is he cant jump, which renders him useless at centre bounces.

I cant believe he actually still has the balls to want to play.. the disgusting handball, he gave straight to crawf, was the reason we lost, SERIOUSLY, we had momentum, and we would have won..I USED TO LOVE KING, THOUGHT HE WAS THE BEST RUCKMAN a few years ago, but now, he should do us all a favour and retire, and mark thompson should know that kings only gonna get worser, he should not have even come back in to the team!

oh yeah, when two bit footballers like byrnes and gardiner get gigs you think bomber will not play King.

people say "take it easy...is first game back" are kidding themselves, fact is steven king wont play any better than that...he wont run faster, wont jump higher, wont handball better

blake is defeainately passsed him, another thing is this is not scapegoating king because no one wants him to be on the team!!!

more like "we told you so" then scape goat!!!

if i see king, byrnes and gardiner in the same team next week, i seriously will commit some type of rage crime!
