Michael Vaughan after his half-century against West Indies
England have confirmed captain Michael Vaughan will be available for four of Yorkshire's matches from 29 April until the first Test against West Indies.

Vaughan will take in one-day matches in Edinburgh and Leeds, a four-day match in Hampshire and another at Headingley.

The home match against Worcestershire is due to end on 12 May, five days before the first Test at Lord's.

Other centrally-contracted players who were at the World Cup will have a slightly more reduced programme.

Ian Bell, Paul Collingwood, Andrew Flintoff, Kevin Pietersen and Andrew Strauss will not start until the May Bank Holiday weekend.

Monty Panesar, however, is available for a Championship match from 2 May.

Meanwhile, the centrally-contracted players who did not travel to the Caribbean are available for all county matches.

They include Alastair Cook, Steve Harmison, Matthew Hoggard and Marcus Trescothick.

Simon Jones is beginning to feel his way back into first-team action at Glamorgan after knee surgery but will not play in the match against Essex on Wednesday.

Ashley Giles has had an exploratory operation on his right hip and faces a long lay-off.

Doesn't matter- Warnie will have his stumps flying quickly anyway,,,,ECB probably thinks (correctly) that Vaughan needs more four day matches, especially if they plan to bring him back for the Test team- wonder who he'll pair with to form the Black Hole of 2007?

They have enough batsmen but i guess he does need time in the middle, KP had his rest in Jan/Feb, should be raring to go against the Foreignshire  We'll also be without Tremlett, Carbs, Ervine and Dimi, to say there is an injury crisis at the minute would be an understatement, will feel better when Stuie Clark gets here.
