View Full Version : Do Adelaide fans actually believe that they're a chance this week?

Usually I like to see the Dockers lose, but I can't wait to watch them beat the Cows this week.

Their feral crowd won't be able to pressure the umpires into giving them soft free kicks and 50m penalties which result in cheap goals this week which will really hurt them because the umpires are actually leading the Adelaide goal kicking so far this season.

Watch for players like Bassett and Rutten go to water when the heat is on. We all know what happens to Bassett when the heat is on (cough, 2006 prelim - 2nd half, cough, cough). Then wait for Chris Knights to show his true colours and become Mr Turnover again.

My prediction is that the Crows will be up by a few goals at half time then they will fall over in the 2nd half ala the 2006 preliminary final.

If I'm wrong then I will cop any type of flaming on the chin but I don't think that will be the case.

In the round 3 match, Port got 21 free kicks and three or four goals from free kicks, where the Crows got 11 free kicks and no goals from frees.

Check your facts. I think you'll find the Crows are well down the list on free kicks for and goals from free kicks.

My prediction is that the Crows will be up by a few goals at half time then they will fall over in the 2nd half ala the 2006 preliminary final.

The Crows didn't play Freo in the 2006 preliminary final ... they played them in the 2006 qualifying final, and the Crows won. Dockers fell over in the last half, not the Crows.

Actually Freo should win this game, as they do have a pretty good record against the cows. In the last 7 games the result has been (for Freo) lost by 30 points, won by 15 points, lost by 11 points, lost by 6 points, won by 12 points, won by 9 points, won by point 1. The overall record stands for Freo vs AFC is 8 games played with Freo having won 5.

The crows also have struggled to beat the weagles at Subiaco in the past as well with the Weagles having beaten them 9 times out of 12 at Subiaco since 1990.

No, the bit about our backline being better than your forwardline is true also. I know this because when we played you a couple of weeks ago you only had 15 scoring shots for the game, and you lost.

I suspect Adelaide's forwardline to be better than your backline as your backline is shit. I know this because when we played you a couple of weeks ago we had 31 scoring shots for the game, and I have just learnt that we have the worst forwardline in the comp in another thread.:thumbsu:

I wasn't on the money about Bassett and Rutten, but Bernie Vince took over the mantle with the worst set shot of the entire season. What a choke. But I was spot on with Chris Knights. He re-affirmed his position as Mr Turnover today.

But Craig refused the opportunity – offered several times in questions at the post-match media conference – and instead pointed out that it was a terrific learning experience for some of his younger players, while accepting that there was a slice of luck involved.

How can losing be a terrific learning experience

Riccuito wreckless captaincy- learning experience
Goodwin bashing journalist- learning experience
Losing consecutive prelims- learning experience
Goodwin/McLeod tiff- learning experience
Goodwin betting scandal- learning experience

Adelaide are having all these learning experience, but what exactly do they have to show for them?

Hate to tell you, but you actually learn more by losing than you do by winning. Also playing in a tough match, in a hostile environment, and having a lot of responsibility is a great thing for young players.

If you come out and pump teams each week, what happens when you are challenged, if you haven't experienced it, you are likley to fail.
