What does everyone think about this game. Geelong will be playing Xavier on there well known May Time Fair Game.

Xavier has a bye rd 1 so this will be there first serious game for the year.
It looks like Henderson will be playing in that case

Henderson and Curnow are very good.

But lets see who you've lost.
J.McArthur, A.McArthur, Rockerfeller, Schofield, McLure.

In fact, you were so heavily reliant on Yr 12 Geelong Falcons players last year (some on scholarships) that you will struggle to replace them.

You're right on one account, Henderson and Curnow are very good. However some of your facts aren't correct. McLure is still playing, he's in Yr 12 this year. Also, no footballer this year or last year has been on a sports scholarship, contrary to what you claimed.

The team will perform with new blood, and expect them to put up a fight against Xavier in round 2.

Absolute lies.
My cousin is there on a scholarship buddy.
Didn't know McLure was Yr 11 - good player

Don't go making stuff up, your losing respect left, right and centre.

Steve,
Come on settle down buddy.
I don't need your respect or from anyone else down at GC.
Lets put the cards on the table champ - if you don't want to admit that several of your boys had hand outs last year then fine. Parents talk, so do staff - its out. And do you actually think I would name a relative so that he could be linched for it.
Seriously you must have rocks in your head.

Firstly, fair enough you don't want anyone's respect, but now you just look arrogant. Secondly the cards are already on the table mate and no "Sports Scholarships" have ever been given out. It's apparently one of the school values, I'm happy with it. No one received "hand-outs". And I asked you for the relative's name, because it looks like a simple alibi for you to use which may well not be true. If it is true, okay, but your cousin doesn't have the right information.

Henderson will have to play a massive part in Geelongs chances if they are to have a chance, will have to kick 5 at least but its nowhere near beyond him.
Who will pick him up.

Geelong had a year out of the box and i would be VERY suprised if they weren't cained as they have been used to for the last decade...

well then he must be on an academic scholarship for further maths, p.e, geography, biology and drama.

Fair enough - must be a coincidence he can play footy then.'

Still - great to see a coach of an APS side posting on a footy forum.

Good work!!

Does anyone else think that Tyson Thomas' evasive skills on the ground are similar to that of josh evans on a mean d-floor?

Yeah good comment! Gormanisahack...

Close mate - 75 points.

Is Henderson really worth 11 goals???

I think not!

College missing their full forward too. Take the two key forwards out of any side in the country and they will really struggle.

Geelong more than really struggled. Take a long walk of a short plank SJ and forget your bias in future. fool.

considering he was playing in the AIS side i think he could have had an impact like that. plus Geelong College had many injures(about 4 or 5). I think the full GC side will be hard to beat and may end up in the top 4

Geelong College Injuries include:
L. Henderson - gun forward, ais player, best forward in the comp
- Broken Leg: 2 weeks
G. Johnstone - nsw U/16 rep, Geelong falcons list as an underage player, sorely missed in midfield rotations
- Knee reco: 6 weeks
N. Taylor - other key forward, played a few games last year and messed up opistion backline structure big time
T. Foott: Backup ruckman to cordy, big body, can play a bit as well
H. Prest - utility, good skills, injured last year as well, big pre-season, set for a good year
- Collorbone: 4 weeks
H. Veanes - Simliar story to above
- ankle: 4 weeks
E. Mitchell: See above
- knee: 4 weeks

now do people start to see the mass of injuries in the Geelong College side
they are a much better side at full strength than they are getting credit for after the first two games

HA! an impact like 11 goals? wow you just lost all credability. Not saying he's rubbish, but that comment is just absurd.

I didn't know Geelong had so many injurys, they more than matched Xavier in the second and third quarter it just broke down in the forward line, get some key forwards back and they will beat a few.

#36 ed curnow year 12
when college get there two best forwards back and a ruckman they will have more structure both up front and done back and will be a force to be reckoned with

What a crushing win, but yeah Geelong are going to struggle with injuries to quality players with Xavier nearly full strength. Xavier just have to pace themselves and keep fit.
