it was 17 goals 10 behinds to 15 goals 10 behinds in skevs favour as quoted by the umps...haileybury had them on toast in the first qtr...but st kevins dominated in the middle during the 2nd and 3rd terms...the bloods came back in the last, but ran out of time...all round st kevins ran harder, and were more physical.
i dunno who kicked goals for st kevins...but for haileybury perri kicked 4 and piggin 3.
thats wot the scoreboard said afta the game, prolly was changed, but who gives, SKC won in the end thats all that matters, SKC goals, from memory, mcdermot 4, broadhurst 4, hickey 2/3.. all i can member

St.Kevins after a slowish start, without their captain, who injured himself, were able to be first to the footy, which proved to be the instrumental factor. Haileybury are to use to winning, with alot of players, who sit off the back waiting for the cheap kicks. Today St.Kevins made these guys accountable and they were shown that the team whos first in for the ball, will win. To the game, Lynch was solid in the first quarter, but was playing loose but when Cachia went onto him, his impact was minimal. Haileybury's goal kickers came from the midfielders, with there fullforward having little impact. Martin, Smith and Nicolopolous played well, but were punished when they didnt go with there man. St.Kevins, through Luke Andrews and Tom Hickey were able to go forward to Will Broadhurst and Tom McDermott who provided good targets up forward. St. Kevins are a team not to be taken lightly this yr. Any thoughts on what has been said?

haileybury just didnt bring thier a game today, full credit to skevs.. they did.
skevs managed to run in numbers all day and ran out the game better than haileybury.
cachia played well off the backline for skevs whilst perri was doing everything he could to make haileybury lift with 4 solid goals.
other notable performers for haileybury were martin, nicolopoulos, vickery, lynch, smith, and piggin.
skevs looked good today however the true haileybury side didnt turn up today.
dissapointing however they look forward heading down to geelong to serve up a thrashing to GGS.
note haileybury still have 3 or 4 players still to come back who are very good in scully, tormey, pattinson and hopping.

Skevs also were without there captain for the whole game basically, and still have Nick Wood, Oakleigh Chargers, and Full Back Andrew Hibbert. Good signs ahead

skevs won it by exactly 2 goals in the end.. the goal umpiring decsions were just with two goals that were given 2 skevs and seemed 2 b touched but really in the end skevs deserved to win it they were far better throughout the course of the match with haileybury putting together mayb a quarter and a half of decent footy. deff a wake up call to the bloods but sure they will hit back. but as has been said i think it was something like 11 of 15 goals were from midfielders. in the end skevs defended better, delivery foward was good, pressure was outstanding as with there tackling with a huge number of holding the balls paid to them but 99% of them were there as well.
