Well written HTBS,

I think you nailed it too. The late withdrawl of Gehrig ultimately cost us victory.

Sure there were a lot of other reasons - not making the most of our dominance in the first half, our players cramping up in the humid conditions, Harvey's injury, etc - however Gehrig would have been the obvious opponent for Longmuir and I doubt they would come back without him. (Despite his poor kicking for goal)

If there were any positives you could say our attack on the ball and aggressive tackling was very good. Aussie Jones looks set for a huge year and Stewie was a real focal point up forward. I also liked Lenny Hayes' game. This is the year that Lenny needs to stand up and be counted so I was rapt to see him play so well.

The similarities with last year that you pointed out is not good at all. With Gehrig now out of the side with Osteitis Pubis and Harvey struggling to come up, we will need to come up with a huge effort to get the points.

Well done as usual HTBS.

The yada, yada, yada part sums up how I feel about the rationalisation process too.

After all these years I still haven't found a better way to treat the spirit after such an episode than thru the bottom of a glass. Any other suggestions?

Weren't Port winless, or thereabouts, when we beat them in 2000? It would be nice to repeat that dose. Also, I'm sure it would be good for their moral development to lose this week.

I've always found that alcohol is the solution to most problems. Supporting the Sainters has made me test that theory plenty of times. Sometimes it's the only solution.

Cheers!!!!!!!!!
