Indeed, he was very good. He had alot of important possessions in the first half that set up some nice goals. He's very important to the team. Great to have him back!

Nick Davis is unbelievably fit and is healthy thin.

He was simply awesome last week against the Demons. Scary thought, we probably haven't seen him reach the pinncale of his career (just yet)!

On ya Davis!

Davis has the ability to become an elite midfielder, although I don't think he will ever live up to that potential.

Shame its on his 150th game. Didn't deserve the lost. We owe it to him!

Yeah, i noticed that once or twice. I think they should have put him more upfield in the 3rd quarter.

Have to do some of your own work to make it happen too for the big game, and he wasn't there tonight.

I'm not making him a scapegoat, just stating that if you want to celebrate a milestone with a win the team has to sohw up to do so, and that includes yourself, If he picks it up in the next couple I'll be fine with that.

I wouldn't want to single him out. Playing that third or fourth target role is pretty hard. If the team goes poorly, these players are often the first to suffer. But he really went off the radar. But then again Micky has been quiet for a couple of rounds too, but he remains busy off the ball. Davo played well against Melb, even when the ball wasn't coming to him. But he was utterly unsighted on Sat.

Everyone will have to lift to beat the Saints next week.

Interesting Auskick atleast had 6 possies and one goal in the first game this season so lets see if the selectors have the balls to drop him (Davis) and a few others just thinking about it Or is it a points system that gives certain players the right to have disgraceful shockers and get away with it time and time again And I thought promoting belief in our younger players was the thing to do In my opinion I thought Auskick was stiff to left out of the side after Rd 1

Posting this in the "Davo" thread isn't a clue is it? :D

I notice that Dempster is upgraded to a test this week. Would he be a chance at all? I think we could cover Tadgh a lot better with him back in the side. Plus we have a lot of talls to cover this round with the Saints coming up. Perhaps this could be Laidlaw's week? Roos like to put the acid o youth against quality opposition.

Whatever happens, we need to free Mal up again. He was good on the weekend, but I reckon Kennelly's injury cost him 10 possies, and we all know how damaging those possies can be when the ball is in Mal's hands.

Dropping Davis would be stupid, unlike Auskick Davis has already proved his worth. Sure, he may had one bad game but every single Swans fan and AFL fan out there know what Davis is capable of. Sure, if he plays 5 games in a row like that then cut him, but cutting him on one bad game is moronic. I don't know if you are referring to Davis when you say "gives certain players the right to have disgraceful shockers and get away with it time and time again" because ever since he's come back into the team after he got dropped he's had one 'shocker' which was last week.

If you want to talk about Swans players who have had many 'shockers' this year then you can't go past McVeigh.

I do agree with you that dropping Auskick after round 1 was a bit stiff. He definately didn't deserve it. We played the best team in the competition, he should have been given atleast 1 more round. I hope he gets another chance soon.

I totally agree that Davis certainly should not be chopped, but it is damned frustrating when he plays a blinder one week and then plays like he has somewhere better to be the following week. When in God's name are they going to finally get rid of that tool McVeigh? I reckon I could do more for the team than this fool and I'm a middle aged woman who's never kicked a footy in her life!

Lol, you take McVeigh's place, i'll take J.Bolton's. I definately think we could do a much better job.

So In: Phillips Out: O'Keefe or Davis

Don't worry Pop your guesses are likely better than most 'gospel' on BF!:thumbsu: Just spit out the mail !:D

Could you arrange to send Goodesy away to a nice relaxing tropical Island for a week with some 2006 game tapes??? (Give Brazabon a go in the middle)

its not uncommon for a player to have a blinder in his first game back and then struggle in #2. Davis wasn't helped by his teammates who were too focused on Barry Hall. Mcveigh and Richards were bigger disappointments to me. I thought last year Mcveigh had turned the corner, but he's back to his old ways this year. Richards doesn't work hard enough when we have the ball. He should have run Petrie off his legs.

Nick Davis is a key part of our team however being one of those freaks who one week can win a game of his boot with 5 miraculous goals when others are down but the next can not get a kick is very frustrating. The gap between his best and worst is bigger than the gap between Sydney and The Wagga thirds. I still believe it's important to have him in the team and as long as there are only few players like him which we have no others they can be very important. Unfortunatley Swans supporters are often quick to blame him when he plays a poor game and we lose. They forget that last september he almost won us a premiership when 21 other players had thier worst game for the season.

I think Davis will perform better if we kick the darn thing to him. I might be wrong but we seem to be very Hall central this year.

That wasn't what you said.. you said "21 other players had their worst game for the season" and the only players who MAY have had their worst game of the season were Barry Hall, Darren Jolly and J.Bolton.

Yeah ok maybe it was a bit of an over reaction to say the all had there worst of the year but 21 players were well below average for 2 and 1/2 quarters and not many of them lifted but Nick Davis did.

i'm right with you here, ma'am....mcveigh seems to have plateaued, he's too soft, his kicking is erratic, especially for goal, and he makes too many dumb mistakes....for some time now i've been a critic of ben matthews, and to a lesser extent crouchy, but i thought they were both excellent against the roos, and i agree with whoever suggested it that maybe sticking davis in the middle and MAKE him run and chase and tckle and earn his own ball would be good for him, and us....i want ablett and amon back and working, too.....i just can't see what mcveigh brings to the team, but maybe he's like his brother and needs a godo 100 years in the seniors to start improving....also thought jarrod moore has been disappointing, specially last week.....i know he's had problems, but with schmidt and simpkins et al, moore is running out of chances....i also wanna see heath grundy back in the seniors, he's a star in the making, has had no luck this season
