Hya Doggy Supporters,
Noticed Matthew Robbins has had (statistically at least) an awesome start to the season.
What's the feeling on this guy, is he going to continue this form through the year?
(My hidden agenda for the qn is that I'm thinking of trading him into my Footy Game team in The Australian. He looks good value at present!)
Thanks.

This guy is loved around the club, by not only his supporters and team-mates, but by opposition fans. Apparently he is our best looking Bulldog (you girls can judge that for us) but we all know looks dont help you to kick goals. He is a quick and alete player, who is tough (physically and mentally) and is known to give the occasional smother of a kick. He is a hard working player, and looks as though he will be around for a long time...

Which brings me to my next point - When did Matthew Robbins first play for the Bulldogs? was it 99?

We did a trade for a draft pick after the 97 season. He didnt play a game in the 98 season for our seniors but in 99 played a couple of blinders mid way through the season. We also got Garlick with a similar trade that season.

Thes stats don't show how loose he played on Pickett in the first half when he went chasing kicks

And they don't show the goals Harding got on him in the last quarter when he was loose again

For the purposes of your game, where numbers of stats equals good, I think he will continue to do OK. Wallace has indicated he might rotate him through the midfield, but I would expect him to continue most games in defence. His stats might edge down from the high twenties to the high teens however if he tightens his game up. thats still pretty good for backman howeveer.
