In a bid to curb the influence of Lance Franklin,
Sheedy left open the possibility of using two defenders on the in-form Hawk forward, who kicked six goals against the Western Bulldogs last week.
"Franklin, he's just got the biggest motor in the AFL nearly, with (St Kilda co-captain Nick) Riewoldt," Sheedy said.
"It's very hard. We might have to double (team) him."
"He's a very potent forward and he's very exciting. He lifts the team and it's pretty important that we can shut him down."
Mark Bolton, Adam McPhee, Kepler Bradley or Dustin Fletcher are possible candidates, but Sheedy said youngster Patrick Ryder was unlikely to get the job despite his encouraging form.
Sheedy put the Bombers through a 40-minute scratch match at Windy Hill on Wednesday in a bid to maintain their competitive touch.
Ruckman David Hille (hamstring) will again be sidelined with injury.
Oh crap... :(
Pitty bout Hille..been good so far..
Look forward to having Winderlich and Welsh back..
It's a game that we can win..
I have confidence..lets hope it is 4points for us..

I knew that Bradley was always a big chance of getting another game. I just hope that the inclusions of Winders and Welsh somehow cancel out the liabilities of Bolton and Bradley, especially if they play on Franklin, let alone get a game!

bloody hell kevin is such a good promotor and is imo the best promoter of this game that has ever existed... he is so good at getting teams fired up and bringing in huge crowds. his comments true/or not are only going to bring 10-15000 extra spectators to this game... i hope to hell kepler and bolton arent playing though, very big shame hille is still out thats a huge let down.. i was quietly confident about this game until i read that. the kepler and bolton in the side thing has again succeeded in making me nervous.

In fairness to Bolton he does have a massive engine doesn't he? He could do a run-with job on him like he did to Swan the other week. And when Lance is deep in the forward line someone else can track him too or cut in on his leads.

I can handle bolts getting another game as i thought his performance was ok and his form prior to that match has but been good but bradley does not deserve another game right now, he needs to go back to bendigo and earn his selection.

If Kepler Bradley or Mark Bolton gets the job on Frankiln then im Making Franklin my captain in dream team, he could have a field day.
Id think that several players will get the job on him, i would expect Fletcher to have longer run on him.
Did Sheedy actually say it could be Bradley or Bolton or was it just the papers?
Yea, the paper said it, not a direct quote.
In any event, dont we ever learn? It was only a few weeks ago everyone starting jumping up and down when Sheedy said he wouldnt debut anyone against Adelaide.
Ur an idiot, did u read the first post?
To be fair, if Sheeds says he's unlikely to play Ryder on Franklin then you could almost lock it in that he will spend some time on him, good match up too IMO. Could end up being a long rivalry between those two.

Depends if he stays there, he may end up being a ruckman

It's the exact thing Sheedy loves to do, but i doubt the will play him on him unless he feels he is forced to.
IMO Franklin would be too good for Paddy at this early stage.
