Heres a tip.

Dont post unless you have a source. :thumbsu:

HAving said that Cox has been bothered by back complaints and was recieving constant attention on Sat.

Whether or not he comes up Im sure we will find out.

Especially dubious considering it came from a Sydney supporter

Shannon Cox, not Dean Cox.

One of the trio of Magpies who is missing this week due to behavioral problems at their club. The trio went out instead of obeying the directive that they stayed in their hotel rooms while in Adelaide.

lmao if thats what the thread was about.

said on the news anyways that coxy is pulling up very sore after every game so they might have to give him a rest.

not too fussed with that possibility..... he's obviously playing with some slight niggles

seaby and some of our talls can easily take up the slack if he has to miss a game to rest. Alot less worried than last year when it seemed that the sky was falling.

If he doesnt play then who comes in now Grahams injured. Mitch Brown or Eric McKenzie?

I'd say Brown, with Staker pinch hitting in the ruck.

Was reported on news in Victoria that he has pulled up sore and is in doubt. What are the W.A papers and news reporting?

It won't be Brown.

He's struggling to stay on the paddock for a whole game. Will be a gun, just not yet.

Seaby is better then Geelongs ruckman any how.

He always steps up with Coxy is out.

The West is reporting Cox is almost a certainty to play.

Dean will play.

His back is giving him grief but it is a managable injury.

Seabs is an ideal replacment anyways so Im not too concerned.

But I would prefer him out there. :thumbsu:

Hope he does come up.......Geelong do have tall options, so I'd hate to have to rob Peter to pay Paul.....pinch hit with one of our own tall options, as it owuld leave us exposed if they loaded the forward line with all of Mooney, Hawkins, Ablett, Ottens. Would have been nice to have Graham available this week too, just to give the side some more height in case it's needed.

Allow me.

He hasn't watched many Eagles games, particularly last year when Cox was injured.

If Cox does miss(unlikely) seaby will tear Geelong a new a$$ hole in the ruck.

EagleMan87
9 May 2007, 17:27
I'd prefer to rest Cox, back injuries have a way of getting much worse very quickly.

Can't bring Graham in for him though, so I dunno who we could replace him with...

MacKenzie for debut perhaps, maybe Brown? Free up Staker/Lynch, who can ruck...

Ottens a far better ruckman than Seaby, Blake averaging 20 hitouts a game this year (5th highest in league) as the second-stringer. McIntosh may get all the kudos, but after him, best young ruckman in the land is Blake.

Watch for Seaby to dispel that thought this Sunday. :thumbsu:

I more meant at actually tapping the ball in air, rather than ground skills. Though they have (slightly) improved this year, to the extent that he gets a few cheers a game.

In my humble opinion, Cox is the best ruckman in the league, and missing him any week is a big blow. Anyone else think he's injuries are worse then first expected?

I agree. He gets quality touches and forces the opposing ruckman to be accountable. Seaby may be good going it alone but 2 against 1 is still a tough ask...

:D :thumbsu: :thumbsu: :thumbsu:I wouldn't go getting too excited. Seaby has been credible in Cox's absence and it's not like Geelong actually have a ruckman to speak of.

Well if Cox has an injury I hope that the club doesn't rush him back into the side too quickly. Let him heal as much as possibly while we give Seaby and whoever else we play in the ruck (Spaanderman ?) a chance to show what they can do !

Yep got it wrong and I wasnt the only one.

Anyways, backs are a trouble area and should be monitored accordingly.

From recent game history you would've thought that Cox would have played.

Better safe than sorry.

I knew he would miss - you could just tell last week that he was struggling.

No point risking anything this time of year

Spaanderman ?

rookie listed mate

annoyed that cox is missing but as someone said he hasn't really been that great so far this year, while seaby has been fairly impressive

no substitute for having 2 quality ruckmen in the side, but we should be ok - hope browny puts the sword to the cats tomorrow :thumbsu:

Mate, it's obvious that BM was just posting him opinion, so try not to bite his head off about it...

I'm guessing you left Cox in your DT and don't have a backup ruckman:D
