Do you guys think umpiring is up to scratch in the EDFL?

There are maybe 3 umpires up to scrath in the league. The rest are just boundary umpires who get to go in the middle because of lack of numbers.

it can vary, in the thirds they havent been to bad, the best ones have probably been the greenies though, which is good to see. in the seniors we have usually had one good one and one terrible one. just the luck of the draw i suppose.

i disagree, the umpires on the weekend were fantastic, not in the thirds though, but they were excellent in the seniors for a change.

Is it a coincidence that you think the umpires are excellent the same day that Darnum has a win?

nope, they were also excellent last week in our 100+ point loss to bunyip. This week though they took charge of the game early and were consistant all day in there interpretations, espically the dodgey hands in the back rule. they gave free kicks to both teams when there was a "scuffle" and some one was touched high etc and also took no crap from either teams players with a high number of 50 meter penaltys given away and a couple of 100s too.

Someone got hit by a bus. WTF? How did he manage that. I wouldn't be calling anyone a retard either. I got yellow carded for calling Kent Kingsley a retard.

well i think your kent comment is spot on.
Budda 230

Kent was a very serviceable player at Geelong, is a millionaire and has an extremely hot Mrs so the man deserves greater respect!! Go Kent!

You should be happy he isn't going to play a game for Richmond ever again!!!

i know. how good is it.
neither is trent knobel.
and ray hall is only playing one more!!!
Budda 230
29th August 2007, 14:54
Knobel would have been handy this year if he wasn't injured. Surely a better ruckman than Polak (who has been good in other roles).

29th August 2007, 15:11
handy, yes.
good, no.

Polak is a very good player, would be even better if wallace would let him play one position, i think he plays his best at CHB and should stay there.
bigpapagman
29th August 2007, 15:53
loose or accountable?
Hoggwash
29th August 2007, 16:04
Wallace loves playing a loose man, always has. Last month or so they have played more attacking footy and look whats happened.
bigpapagman
29th August 2007, 16:06
i reckon polak's better forward.
Budda 230
29th August 2007, 16:22
I think Polak could be a very talented forward, but for Richmond's structure he needs to play back. I don't see Thursfield or McGuane as long term replacements. Show a bit, but that's it.
Richo does need another tall down there to help out but you have some good developing talls in Hughes, Riewoldt and Shultz (however you spell it).
Considering you pretty much got him for nothing, Polak's recruitment has been a big winner and he wouldn't be too far from coming top 5 in their B+F.

would be AA in a better side.

I wouldn't go that far, but still a good year.
Foley in a better side would be Brownlow favourite almost! I can't believe Geelong passed up such a talented local with their last pick! Clearance master of the league!
