Two players that really stand out are Matthew Lobbe and Daniel Noy. Both players have impressed me alot this year, and should be drafted at years end.

Lobbe should go first around the 20ish mark, and Noy around 30ish.

Thoughts anyone?

I think this is close to the worst group of Ranges players that I have seen. Walker, Renton and Lobbe are their best prospects but I doubt any of them with figure in the early selections if at all.

Really?
Like the look of both Lobbe and Noy.

Thoughts on Rory Sloane?

Sloane seems a hard working midfielder who will develop. Lobbe is as good as I've seen up forward for anyone this year and would surely be a first round consideration.

Their 19 year old, Wright must be close to a return and will attract some strong notice when his fitness returns. Was tremendous in a practice match against northern.

I reckon noy wiil get picked up late in the draft he is a classy player and backs himelf around the contest. Lobbe is just a freak and i reckon any club would be happy to pick him up. Do you reckon he is the second best tall in the tac cup after kreuzer? Trent zomer is a really consistent and skilful player and i reckon he will get picked up late or as a rookie. But the man everyones fogettin is Dellaquilla he is a very skillful player and he uses the ball really well. He is quite a fast player and backs himself i think he will get picked up by a club late in the draft. I also think Shaun dixon is very underated and was really unlucky not to make metro trials.

rory sloane is an absoulute freak...he can do evrything
aaron white - very unlucky not to get a vic metro gig...had no pre-season with OP..came back into the team round 2 and has been consistently in Eastern's best since...has a massive leaps and top set of hands...skills are as good as any down at eastern.
another player down there that may get a line late in the draft, purcell..very classy outside player...played on selwood against bendigo, kept him to very limited influence and was BOG for ranges...one to watch as the year goes on

Thoughts on Rory Sloane?

Liked what I have seen so far, although i'd like to see him move into the midfield at some stage.

Hasn't been picked in the Vic Metro squad, so his chances of getting drafted would be pretty slim IMHO.

Has played on-ball every game I've seen him this year.

Lobbe is going to find himself in that awkward not quite a forward, not quite a ruckman position. He is a good ruckman but there is a lot of competition for ruckmen this year. Similarly there are more genuine key forwards around as well. He is the TAC Cup's Josh Fraser.

Aaron White is their best player. But 188cm full backs don't get drafted. He needs to go to the midfield and show he can play there. AFL clubs just don't want a man-marking back pocket anymore.

Daniel Noy has been good. Glad he made the Metro squad. He tends to be a bit unobtrusive. You sort of want to see the good midfielders at that level carry the ball and break the lines. He is more a give and go type.

Zomer is tough but his kicking needs plenty of work. Similarly Shaun Dixon butchers it a bit by foot. I can't see either getting picked up.

I'd agree that Lobbe and Walker will be the two considered. Renton might make a rookie list but there are probably too many ruckmen around this year so he could miss out. Aaron White to be the hard luck story - very good footballer, just not what the AFL want.

Not from where I have been sitting. Played more a FP/HFF role. Has some pretty good skills, and was probably left out due to the inclusion of Dylan Joyce, who has no chance whatsoever of being drafted, given that he is only 170cm.

Given that he is 197cm, could he be drafted and turned into a CHB? Would like to see Eastern try him there in some matches during the year.

Eastern are being too reliant upon him at CHF..need to have more avenues from goal..lobbe is under too much pressure down there to perform and for his own personal development needs to be givin opportunities at either end of the park..i thnk AFL clubs would like to see how he performs at CHB or even FB and given his frame and reach could he be turned into a kepler bradley (i kno he is a spaztic) or dustin fletcher?!?

To me, he could could turn into quite a good CHB at AFL level. However, as you say, Eastern are pretty reliant on him at CHF.

The reason they are playing him at chf is because he wont get drafted as a ruckman. Although he would still dominate in the ruck. But Renton has proved everyone w rong and has shown everyone what he is made of. All he neeeds to work on is the accuracy of his taps.

Eastern are finding some form now and should be able to challenge Murray after the Queens birthday weekend.

I think Lobbe's flexibility will be something the recruiters like. At 197cm he is to small to ruck but to be able to have a fwd/ruck change player is invaluable. It will come down to what players want.

Noy will certainly be drafted although I would have thought 30ish was a bit high. I have him going around 50 or so.

Ranges won 3 on the trot are they a force to be rekond with??? Having inclusions such as Noy Dellaquiilla and Wright back in the team and beating Murray away, are these blokes underrated?
