View Full Version : Cam Cloke injured
Cam has dislocated his shoulder again at training today and thorton didn't train today either.
We should now have an advantage in the ruck and down forward:D
Not nice to see a player who cant consolidate a spot thanks to injury though
Again?
Gotta feel for him, having always dislocate his shoulder would really mess with your head.

Thanks for the update, but that's terrible news. I don't want to see players injured, unless their name is Nick Davis.

terrible news for cam...
only positive from the pies persepective is that it partly justifys why we let him go

Feel sorry for Cam, he was going pretty well.
The poor bloke - not good at all. :thumbsd:
And I was looking forward to seeing Bryan and Cloke go at it ;)
As well as maybe one of our players giving it to cam.
Bring it on!
Geezus Fraser and Bryan vs. Ackland and McClaren (I assume they'll bring him in)
Would love to be a Collingwood midfielder on the w/e.
Bad news for Clokey though, you feel for him. After cementing a spot this happens.
Edit: McClaren injured. Maybe one of Hampson and the other O'HelpCarlton will come in.
McLaren was badly injured last week in the Bullants game & is out for about 6 weeks. You should smash us in the ruck now. Hopefully we'll just rove to Fraser & Bryan.
Good to see some genuine remorse for Clokey here. I wasn't sure what kind of reaction his injury would get from the Pies army.
If Clokey left us we'd probably be a bit more upbeat about it, but the truth is we let him go and many think we shouldn't have.
I suppose Kennedy will have a go in the ruck, or even O'hailpin or Whitnall if they're feeling adventurous.
Some players just have no luck at all and just after that picture in the paper with Travis and Cam.

I am convinced that his shoulder is the main reason we delisted him. Fully fit he probably would have been retained for another year (and should have, imo), but it seems the shoulder was just too fragile.

Yeah but don't forget fellas our backline will be out of sorts with clem out and presti under an injury cloud. Should be a good game IMO.
Agree, Kennedy & Lance will do some ruck work. I $hit myself when we put Lance in the ruck in the last quarter v Essendon, but he got some very important touches of the ball. He used his body well & got a couple of good hitouts down our onballers throats when it counted. Kennedy did some good work last week, but I am still yet to be convinced about him. Cloke & possibly Thornton going down may well have saved him from being dropped this week.

How many shoulder related injuries is that for Cam? I thought his shoulders were stuffed last year, but he came back and looked OK, you have to feel for the bloke as he looked like a really good prospect and I was pumping his tyres up since day one.
Can he come back from this latest set-back?
Some people just have terrible luck

Me too. Would have been a fantstic match-up, and certaily would have generated some interest talk on here after the match, no matter who won. Disappointing.

north gave him a physical in the hope of taking him preseason but their medical advise was that his shoulder would not stand up all season and the pies knew that to

Aaah. Good old Carlton, always willing to make stupid trades on washed up or injured players. Mick Martyn, Mick McGuane anyone?;)
And I was looking forward to seeing Bryan and Cloke go at it ;)
Yeah both players have some to prove against their former clubs and going up against each other is just setup for a fantastic football story. Could you imagine the adrenaline between them with the roar of the crowd?? Shame.

but the blues doctor Dr Nick from the simpsons gave him a clean bill of health

Yes - spot on! Carlton always lift for us and we'll go in with at least four changes from the lot that did so well for us last weekend. It's bad luck for Cloke and he's apparently been playing some pretty good footy - but, it's not like they've just lost a Fevola or Simpson. I just hope to hell we have Dids, Brodie and Presti in - and fit!

Well the abuse is flowing on another site, apparently you cannot have bad shoulders so I am wondering why they havent all abused Rusling for getting injured
Bad luck for Cam but its not as bad as the other injuries

Interesting, did not know that but it makes sense.
Shame they didnt do a medical on Jonathan Hay's mental capacity.

I think Dr. Nick Riviera is also giving Whitnall advice on how to gain weight so he can claim a disability.

He is a very good player thank you very much! Don't mean to troll but i hope he tears you guys a new one to prove he is a very adequate footballer.
Poor kid, i hope he recovers soon, he was doing really great at the blues :(

Agreed - about the "good player" bit anyway. Simpson was clearly Carlton's best when we last played. If we let him run around unchecked on the weekend, he'll do some damage again. He finds the footy and can use it.

He went from a "very good player" to a "very adequate player" in two sentences?
Lucky you didn't keep writing or you'd be rating him with the rest of Carlton's list. ;)

That's a shame for the bloke . Looks to be a long term problem unfortunately . Although that Judd fella had shoulder problems early on but seems to be going okay at the moment .

Ruckmen get a lot more stress on their upper bodies. Cloke injured himself doing ruck drills.

as soon as I read that I instantly had a flash back to Justin Davies who I am sure all Pies fans will remember! shocking attitude and no longer on our list and never really did a whole lot but he definitely turned it on against you boys a couple of times ... 1 day in particular I remember in the wet at the G where we staged a pretty decent comeback from memory.
It’s funny how certain no-name or former players can be well remembered by a particular club’s supporters yet most likely completely forgotten of by the rest of the league.
