Irving won't make the age requirement, no. 1 pick in 2009.

I remember he went to the draft camp last year as an exception with the age limit. The comments were generally along the lines of "top skills and top endeavour but has terrible visual awareness - hairband recommended"

While Irvings skills are good, and the hairband is definately recommended, i think we all know who will be 'pick 1' in 2008. Lachlan "vossy" Mikronis, Star full forward, loves a few goals, and will have a ping from anywhere. key player for the 3rds and definately has a future in the AFL.
Anyone else think so?

Vossy is the only player to ever have the mercy rule applied to. This prevents him from dobbing easy goals from 60 metres out on the boundary every time and forces him to pass off - something he loves doing.

eddy will certainly be letting it all unleash against wesley this week. a certainy to kick at least 10, maybe 15 if he decided to elevate those dukes of his.

rumour has it he kicked an elegant 4 today, could of easily been 5.

The rumours are true, was at the game today, and irving was on fire in the 3rd quarter, wesley just had no match-up for his size or skill.

Yes, unfortunately the Australian Bulimic Society was unable to send down a few strong players to help out Wesley.

I dont think it would have helped, nothing cans top irving, he is a regular buddy franklin, only a few kilo's heavier, and a few centimeters shorter.

i was at the game and wondering who CGS's fullback was?
he was a tank, he was atleast 2kgs heavier than the goal kicker irving.

melbournemartin
13 May 2007, 22:22
Unfortunately he had lost that 2kgs by the end of the game due to all the hard running and six running bounces.

and getting run down?

Gadget Arms
13 May 2007, 22:29
i do beleive that is a record for a full back in the league, i agree with specialedition, caulfields full back was outstanding, easily the biggest player on the field. wil mention him to a few TAC teams

I think that you are confusing the full-back with a certain half-back flanker in terms of getting run down.

I hear that he has chosen to bypass the TAC Cup as it'd be unfair to his opponents.

Also of note, what has happened to Vossy Mikronis!?!?!
Word was going around that we was looking to bag 10 in the game, only managed to sneak one in.
If he wants to join Irving at the top of the goalkickers table he is going to have to turn it up old school next game, as the big j claw is looking to snag 6.

melbournemartin

He's a bit like Fevola - a huge talent but gets a bit distracted at times. If he keeps this up then he may only be a late second round pick in the draft.

with the j claw predicting to kick six, i will definately have to come down to the game this week against scotch! and its true, the scouts were dissapointed with mikronis' effort, but never count him out. might kick more than the j claw this week.............

The large Scotch oval will suit Vossy's great running capacity.

Sounds like a challenge.

definately a challenge, will be watching for the superstars of the game. i am also expecting a couple from that massive full back of caulfields.....

what about the ruckman!? can we expect a bag from him on saturday?

melbournemartin
14 May 2007, 21:54
The full back is planning on running the length of the ground from the kick-in if up by 50+ in the last quarter. If Hender can try to do it, why can't the full-back?

Gadget Arms
15 May 2007, 12:14
No, i dont think we can expect a bag from the ruckman, he prefers to pass it around and give the forwards a chance, maybe a couple though.......

If this is the case wouldn't he be an u/16 player now? Is he in Vic Metro at all.

15 May 2007, 18:52
nah his parents dont want him playing vic metro just sticking to school football. expect to see him up there dominating afl in the next few years, after training tonight there is no stopping him.

i hear this flash cater is just a pleasure to watch, although he's hard to see its just blur. with the new brand of football being played he will surely be going number 1 with that lightning speed and fast hands out of the centre
no. 1 fan of Flash = myself Bobby Skilton

He's just so fast that the goal umpire can't even see the ball go sailing through the posts. That's the only reason why he hasn't kicked 10+ each game so far as the goals haven't been counted.
