erm... Buckley being an ambassador for his junior club... what's the catch???
What's this got to do with Collingwood?
Another example of Port's sad obsession with the big boys.

Why would anyone post such rubbish here. It's got nothing to do with the Power, it's a SANFL club for god sakes.
I'm sure Eddie knows and I'm sure he approves Bucks helping a club he won a Magarey Medal with.

You will be dumber for having even scanned it, if it has anything to do with SA.:)
Hang on aren't the Port Adelaide Power side that is in the AFL now, the PA Magpies team that Buckley played for, and the new PA SANFL club is a different club? Why would Bucks be an ambassador of a completely different club? I don't want to sound too cynical but I've always held the point of view that the PAMagpies (the new SANFL club) was just created so that Port Power could conveniently claim the history of the PA of old when in reality there was no need to as the AFL does not recognise SANFL premierships in the premierships column anyway (as much as people like to ignore it, the fact is the AFL is the VFL with a different name). This may sound confusing but effectively they now have created 3 clubs. Port Adelaide (AFL), Port Adelaide (pre entering of the AFL comp 1997) and Port Adelaide Magpies (the current one in the SANFL). The Port Adelaide Magpies is in effect a Potemkin village.

Bucks has always been proud of his involvement Troy whats your point? And as for Eddie why would he have a problem considering he forked out $20 000 to the true believers fund. He has more respect for the REAL PORT ADELAIDE than the power board do!
JABSO. The Port Magpies are the one with the history . The power only trot it out to get bums on seats coz they can't get a crowd. They also give season tickets away when you subscribe with FOXTEL. How well are the power going? They need us more than we need them.

Makes perfect sense Jabso.
Port Adelaide Power has 1 AFL flag.
Port Adelaide magpies (current) has 2 flags in the SANFL.
Port Adelaide (pre 1997) is dead with 34 flags to its name.
Nice work idiots.

All Magarey Medals will now equate to Brownlows or even eclipse a brownlow medal.

Collingwood Football Club has never had a problem with the Port Adelaide Magpies.
It's those pretenders, the Port Adelaide Power, who like to think that they're the same club that we take issue with.

Interesting comment - given your opinion on another forum about this matter.... perhaps you should maintain a constant opinion - regardless of the audience - its a good way to gain some credibility.

I wouldn't get too caught up about all the hype.Besides ,i have a soft spot for the Port Adelaide Magpies, back in the old days we would swap players and really Buck's did come form there, as did a lot of great Port Adelaide players and some did come to collingwood.Players like buckley, the great Greg Phillips,Bruce Abernathy,Richardson (can't remember his first name).Must admit,Port Adelaide magpies were a powerhouse club in the sanfl. They have won countless premierships, wish collingwood won as many premierships. But really they have had some fantastic players come from that club, even players like Craig Bradley (carlton) and Russell Ebert (Nth melbourne) were picked up by opposition Victorian sides, the talent that came from that club in the last 40 years is amazing. I believe that Port Power are an extension of the Port Adelaide Magpies, and the only reason that Port Power didn't adopt the black and white and the magpie emblem is because The mighty Colllingwood magpies own that right in the AFL.

This just proves they are 2 seperate clubs doesnt it, because bucks wouldnt go near port power. Poor Powerpuff puff gives, they are obsessed with us and lost and ashamed of their teal, silver power identity.
All I can say is GO PIES!
I'm not too fussed about any of the Port Adelaide fuss except when supporters claim that their SANFL premierships should be counted as AFL/VFL premierships. I also get a bit worked up when they say that SANFL cups are just as noteworthy as old VFL premierships as they were both statewide competitions. It's like saying Liverpool who have won 18 titles in the English league aren't as good as Dynamo Kiev a Ukranian side who have won 24 domestic leagues (in both Ukraine and the old USSR).

Funny how you seem to be reading all the Collingwood boards, but then again thats always been Ports thing hasn't it. Always watching what we do.

YOur right ... it is funny ... great laugh to read. Supporters going off at each other and having to hand out official apologies, men in gold casting stones at other clubs and ignoring the hypocricy of it all.... all the ingredients of a springer episode really.

You see, this has always been my issue.
I served a five year sentence in Adelaide as a teenager and as a Collingwood supporter, I naturally followed the Port Adelaide Magpies, because as the team who wanted to be us, they borrowed our Magpies name and black & white stripes in 1902 and are still using them today.
If, God forbid, I were to go back to Adelaide for a weekend I would follow the Port Adelaide Magpies.
Clearly they are spiritually still the same team. Nathan Buckley thinks so. I think so. And we're the two FIGJAMs, who's opinion supercedes all!
I think it is also clear that the Power are a cleverly manipulated franchise, who intentionally drew on a contingent of gullible morons, who are probably so stupid as to think that the World Trade Centre was brought down by terrorist activity. We're through the looking glass here people.....

See The Age this morning? Port Tealelaide got an 11 year old kid to design an all Teal jumper for some game or other! Was going to start a thread but it isn't worth the effort and it would just attract uranium inhalers from SA. I mean how many jumpers does that club have? Imagine being a gullible supporter and buying a new jumper every 2 weeks. I still use the Collingwood jumper I bought in 1986, yes 10 years before Port existed, and funnily enough it looks very similar to the current jumper. By the time Port has been around for 20 years they will have at least 8 new jumper designs.
YOur right ... it is funny ... great laugh to read. Supporters going off at each other and having to hand out official apologies, men in gold casting stones at other clubs and ignoring the hypocricy of it all.... all the ingredients of a springer episode really.Seriously, what do you expect from team sites? There are lots of Collingwood sites and some cover pretty distinct demographics and consequently supporter types. The one comment element they all share is pure one eyed Collingwoodness and the one attitude in large supply is that we are Collingwood and no one else matters 1/10th to us as much as we do.
Self absorbed, ignorant, biased, deluded – it doesn’t matter what you think it is, it is pour strength and why you bother to take a look our way. How many Bulldogs site do you frequent? Our many and varied sites reflect why new are who we are and why everyone, yourself clearly included, wants to know what we do every minute of every day, how we do it, and to talk about it and pass judgement on it.
As I always say:
THANK$ a bunch!
Clearly they are spiritually still the same team.Brotherhood of Magpies.
