Is anyone else sick of the backslapping and mock conflict rehearsed on Nine's Footy Classified?
Instead of discussing and analysing the game we get idle gossip and moralising about off field antics.
Two weeks ago after the Tigers were close to crucified by umpiring in the WCEagles game Lyon and co feel it necessary to show any of the dubious decisions from the match. No, instead they chose to discuss how much our captain should be fined for commenting about the awful officiating.
Next week, same thing happens to Melbourne. Whadya know? Lyon shows the controversial freekicks while that barnacle of the AFL - Hutchy - hopes to Christ that Carey might accidentally brush his leg under the table.

Caro has been bullied out of talking about Richmond
Gets that boring "not Richmond again" gag. As if they have something more interesting to talk about.
Lyon offers nothing. Carey has some strong opinions but isnt an intelligent bloke. Hutchy will look for dirt but is trying to bring comedy into his gig.
Not essential viewing by a long way.

I actually quite enjoy the show. I like the obvious distaste that Caroline Wilson and Wayne Carey have for each other and I loved it when Hutchy was trying to get Carey to say sorry to Laidley last Monday. It would be better if they replaced Lyon though. He rarely says anything worthwhile...

I've never been a fan of Bruce McAvaney mainly because I think he has tried to PC the AFL at every opportunity. But at least Talking Footy occasionally tried to invest their commentary with game analysis and gave insights into developing trends, tactics and the like. This is sorely lacking from Footy Classified. I guess the drug debate/Whitnall Bros etc has been timely for producer's who want to push tabloid-gossip mongering.
That's why Hutchy gets to sit at the table.

How patronising was he when he said that Port Adelaide were entitled to thier opinions and arguements as long as it wasn`t to the detriment of Collingwood ?
