Well, it's finally here ..

Total waste of time as far as I'm concerned.
His conclusion ?
"Are they working hard to rectify perceptions? Yes. Are they evil? No. Do I still want to see them get smashed? No. Is last year's premiership cup tainted? Absolutely."
What a joke he is, really.

so why is it a joke? I thought it was a fairly positive article...perhaps you can do better?

Completly expected article from Walls. What evidence can he produce that the Eagles are "evil" or that last years premiership is "tainted" ? Absolutely NONE ! That doesn't stop him from lying about the club and qualifying his "apology" so as to make it meaningless. Walls is a journalist of miniscule talent, few brains, no courage and zero credibility !

Still claiming that the 2006 Premiership is tainted is inappropriate and a complete lack of respect to all the people within the club who worked hard for so many years to achieve it.
Having said that, everything else was fair enough. When reading through his itinerary I found it curious that he didn't get to have a meeting with the skipper.

I think after all the effort the club went to, for him to then write that the premiership was tainted, with out offering a reason why, is a slap in the face. It was if he just couldn't bring himself to admit we were the best last year.
The club were never going to win though, I really dont know why they bothered. I know they wont bother again.

His reason for the cup being tainted was put down to the conversation at his departure. He didn't even say who the person was, it could have been a dockers supporter. But then, he never claimed the cup was tainted in west coasts eyes... only in everyone elses.
Meh, I'm just really pleased with the way West Coast work, I never knew any of that. Sounds like we're set.

Is it too cynical of me to think no such person existed ?
That it was merely a 'creation' of his to justify what he was always going to say anyway ?
Aside from the last part - the article was not too bad.
I like the statement that the club believes that Woosha is set to be the Coach for the next 20 years.

No I agree, sounded ficticious to me.

the cup is not tainted, i think that was the stupidest way to finish the article.
I like the statement that the club believes that Woosha is set to be the Coach for the next 20 years.
Which the sad short-tenured and sacked coach couldn't wrap his tiny mind around, and just laughed at the very idea !
When reading through his itinerary I found it curious that he didn't get to have a meeting with the skipper.
Well, as Woosh observed, 'He's not a footy person, he's a media person'.
A man of few words is our beloved Woosh. :thumbsu:
Walls is a man (?) of many, none of which are worth a damn :D

They consistently win games by two or three goals. The players say they don't blow teams away because they relish the one-on-one contest on the field, and believe that brand of pressurised football holds you in good stead come finals time.
most frustrating and exciting thing about following the weagles in recent times.
Games where I felt certain that we've won before the final siren rang are few and far between.
While it was fairly fair throughout the article he still managed to piss us all off with his closing sentence.

To be honest I think it would have been cringeworthy if the article was 100% positive. He had a lot to say that painted our club in the best possible light, he admitted he was ill-informed and hasty in his original assessment, he has even emerged a bonefide fan of Woosha's. The last statement, imo, is a way for him to save a little face and probably it fairly reflects the opinion of the football public........ outside WA. After all, he does write for a Melbourne newspaper!
I am not a Robert Walls fan, but as an Eagles member, I accept his apology :)
