Was at the WAFL last night and Samps looked a new man who finally has his fitness levels to where they need to be!
Layed 9 tackles and kicked 2 goals and his defensive pressure was brilliant...:thumbsu:
Ill be tempted to find a spot for him next weekend against the Dees as Souths have the bye and then the following week is the state game so he wont be playing for 3 weeks....Which is a shame as his fitness is finally there now Souths have a few weeks off...Hence why i reckon we find a spot for him next week.
It's an unfortunate situation as Ashley has some sublime skills, yet there is a plethora of youngsters on the West Coast list that have gone past him in the pecking order at this stage I'd suggest.

True that but the one position in the eagles team that still isnt locked in is the small crumbing forward role....Armers is spending more time in the middle this year and LeCras isnt a crumbing forward so if you look at it that way then Samps is still the preferred #1 small forward for the Eagles its just his fitness keeping him back but there was signs last night that he was back to his best and im just saying with Souths having 2 weeks off might be a good move to bring him in neext week....Maybe for Lecca.

great to hear about samps
hope he gets to play some time soon, though it might be very hard to crack this side at the moment
agreed that army is spending a lot of time in the middle lately (basically doing what fletcher was doing, but probably better) so therefore samps stands a better chance of getting in to that forward pocket - le cras was good last week, maybe they can hold down the two pockets, giving us a genuine crumber and a quality lead out small forward along side TBU
make it happen! :thumbsu:

Would love to see Samps back. But with both Embley, Cox and possibly even Butler a chance to come back in, it'll be very tough to find a spot for him.
