Dick for Medhurst, If Clement is ok id take out Waiklen,Toovey or Brodie, before Iles. He was solid today and better than those 3, even though most on here dont rate him because he keeps prooving them wrong.

From the sounds of MM, theres going to be alot more then just those changes.

Id be suprised if at least 1 of these 3 dont get a game;
Goldsack, Nicholls, Cook.

Dont forget we also have to get Cox and Davis back.

Brodie IMO shouldn't of been played today, he should of played for Willy, although it's all well and good to say that in retrospect. You could tell he lacked match fitness in the way he was run down or almost run down a couple of times.

However he will be much better in his 2nd game.

Iles disapointed me, did some nice things, and went well defensively, but does some dumb things and is a bit of a battler. Depending on how Cox goes in the VFL, he may be replaced.

Dick for Davis or Medhurst (both will probably come in) will probably happen. Although I was happy with Dick.

Toovey may also be dropped, with Holland back in the side to be a negator.

what were the dumb things he did, please explain?

he had 14 possesions in about half a game.
used the ball well and fired out some lightning handballs from beneth the packs. Kept Betts and Bower quiet, probably the only thing he did slightly bad was when Saddington chopped off his pass to Rocca, and even that is Saddingtons opponents wrong doing. Took a good mark on the wing and laid some very important sheppards.

Stop bagging him ffs and actually watch him closely next time, im sick of some of you armchair experts bagging players out because of maybe one game you saw them play 20 months ago.
i maybe a biast Clarence supporter (thats where he is from, in case u didnt know)but i think if u watch him closely u will see that he does a lot more than he gets credit for. lay off

Don't be too hard on Brad Dick, from where I was sitting at the G he chased like Aaron Davey all day, didn't land the tackles but Carlton players were aware of him and he made them think twice. He was ok IMO.

Clarence suck, go Glenorchy. But seriously I had high expectations of him, have a look at posts before this game (on the thread about the changes) people were going overboard saying Iles is a dud bla bla bla. I hardly think my statement was tough.

He kicked a goal!!! Seriously though that is a good point, we don't want to have no match up for him and be forced to play Wakelin as the decoy forward again. Although I wouldn't be surprised if Presti plays on Johnson (although I think O'Brien would be a great match up for him).

I think Presti will get Darcy as hes our tallest backman by a decent margin. Agree that Harry is a good matchup for Johnson, Clement is also an option is hes back.

Where on the ground would they play on each other?

Tarkyn can just stick to his wing, continue becoming the John Stockton of the AFL (Didak will relinguish this title by just kicking four a game) and slotting himself into the 2007 All-Australian squad.

Too early to say, will wait until Willi game and availability of injured players.

In the gun: Iles, Dick (what he's done has been great, just doesn't get enough ATM), Wakes (no obvious matchup), perhaps Toovey but unlikely.

Although with Licuria being one of Mick's faves, he'll probably come back in straight away.

the only player that should be dropped is Illes and either Davis or Medhurst should come in. It's going to be hard for the selectors with Cox, Egan or Goldsack pushing real hard for selection. There also could be a late change with Wakelin. I congratulate him on kicking his 1st goal for us and a fine snap it was lol ;)

You are joking arent you he played better than dick has in his last 4 games and got more of the ball in half a game than dick did in all his games combined he has tidy skills for the most part and has a bit of pace. He also has been just as good as toovey and cox so i see no reason for dropping him.

Out Dick, Iles, Wakelin (omitted)

In Davis, Medhurst, Goldsack

3 changes this week. Leon Davis will return, Goldsack is pushing very hard for selection and deserves an opportunity before his form taperes off and Medhurst will strengthen our goalkicking efficiency in front of the big sticks.

Cox can play in the backline in Iles' place and Goldsack can be a 3rd tall, CHB, FB, BP, HBF wing he is very flexible.

I watched him closely and have been for a long time, his disposal has improved but he turned it over way to many times, he cost us goals, which is a problem, he kicked it directly to opposition at least twice, also failed to lay an important tackle on his opponent, who then ran onto kick a goal, also failed to make body contact and cost us another goal, lots of bad decision making. I think he should be dropped. Dogs will kill us if we turn it over like that. He has something but needs more time in the VFL.

In Davis
Out Dikk.

Medhurst has been injured too long now, so he will match practice in the VFL. Cox and Egan can learn the hard way what happens when you get dropped for discplinary reasons - that you are no automatic selection to return.

Wakelin to be retained but its line-ball. Cox or Goldsack may replace him.

I love Dick, but I think it's time for him to go back to Willi and get his hands on the ball a bit more. I'm not for a minute underselling the quality of his disposal though.

I'd like to see Goldsack come in, we need to reward the players who are performing for Willi.

Davis is in our best 22.

Yes he will play on a midget, seen the Bulldogs forward line? Remember Wakelin was the one taking marks in defence and delivered when sent upfield. Why do you reckon the kids aren't trusted to play lone wolf like Wakes often does? Will be kept in as an insurance policy against 19 year old brain fade until Clement returns.:)

Maybe, maybe not. He'd be a good matchup for Darcy.

This is assuming Jimmy is still not right.

Matchup for Darcy is a concern. If we don't play Wakes, Presti has to play on Darcy, which means Brad Johnson gets Harry O or maybe Nick Maxwell. This may be OK but what if Brad Johnson or Darcy have an 'on' day. We have to have a plan B and use our versatility which has served us so well so far this year.

I think I'd keep Wakes.

Do people in these threads post who they 'THINK' will come in, who simply who they 'want' to come in?

Personally I can't see Malty making another 3 changes to a winning team, especially when no-one on the outer is a monty to come in.

Toovey won't go out and I doubt Iles will after one game, especially a reasonable game.
I also don't think both Medders and Davis will come in, in the same week. Medhurst will come through Willy IMO.
Davis wasn't outstanding in his Willy game either, while he was very good against the Crows, I don't think he's a certainty to simply walk back into the squad, but in saying that I hope/believe he will

IN: Neon and maybe Goldy
OUT: Dick and Wakes (match up)

He is a good player, why everyone dislikes him is an absolute joke, he contributes just as much as any other player,

A FEW POINTS TO NOTE:

1. HE IS NOT SLOW, ACTUALLY WOULD BE ONE OF OUR QUICKEST AND FITTEST

2. IT IS NOT HIS FAULT HE MAY HAVE REPLACED WOEY AND THAT HE WAS CHOSEN AHEAD OF CAMPOREALE.

3. HE WEARS NO#37 INCASE THE UNAWARE DIDNT REALISE WHO HE IS.

5. HIS NAME IS SPELT "ILES"

6. HE WAS DRAFTED IN THE PRE-SEASON DRAFT, BUT THAT DOESNT MEAN HE ISNT GOING TO BE AS GOOD AS OUR OTHER DRAFT PICKS

7. AND LAST, HE PLAYS BACKLINE, WHICH MEANS HE PLAYS A DEFENSIVE ROLE ON HIS OPPONENT MOST WEEKS, HE ISNT GOING TO KICK FLASHY GOALS OR TAKE PACK MARKS, HE WILL DO HIS JOB!

Please take particular notice of the next time he plays, be it a willy or collingwood, u will soon change your opinions. i hope
