View Full Version : Brad D(ck
I know its early days yet, but the one thing I've noticed about this kid is his kicking skills are sublime. Always hits a target, always kicks it to advantage.
Look out when this kid fills up a bit, and gains some confidence in his body, and roughing it with the bigger bodies, I reckon he will be a star. A clever midfielder who can be damaging by foot.
Its great to see that not only do we have such promising youngsters, but it seems finally we are solving our kicking problems. D(ck and Pendlebury by foot are the best youngsters I've seen at Collingwood since Didak was coming through.
I think with body strength he will be a midfielder rather than a forward. He seems to read the taps pretty well and is a great kick. I don't think he is one of the fastest players in the AFL by any stretch but has great acceleration and knows when to put the foot down to avoid tackles.
I don't know if he's ready yet, and if Davis wasn't dropped Dick probably would've been dropped, however that doesn't mean he's not coming on nicely.

Reminds me of Pearce from Port :thumbsu:
The pass to Lockyer today was a beauty... and also one of his kicks to Rocca... perfect.
I was happy!

Yep, exactly my sentiments, Dick's foot skills are very good and he can read the play. I don't expect too much of him at the moment, he will mature at 20 or 21 and become a regular then. As Jabso posted, has the attributes to become a midfielder rather than a forward.

Heath Shaw would have to be very unfortunate to not rate a mention. He has been very effective by foot this year.

Yeah, I would rate Heath Shaw above Pendlebury, but still behind Dick in terms of footskills.
His weighting, accuracy and consistency is awesome.

His kicking today was incredible, I wanted to punch Rocca for dropping that mark as Dick had taken the effort to drop it in between two Carlton players and put it on a silver platter. Gorgeous to watch.

Yeah - That was absolutely sublime.
His kicking reminds of Jason Akermanis'...

Heaths good, but I reckon Pendlebury is probably a shade ahead. Is great by foot, I don't think I've seen him miss a target yet.

I agree, definately a midfielder, who can also at times pinch hit down forward.
Still a bit skinny, but what I've seen so far has got me excited.

Isnt greedy enough to be a small forward nearly always looks to hit a player up first (not a bad thing) rarely misses his targets and will become a good midfielder one day

Still hating on me for the Shaun Burgoyne comparison? :D

No - Shaun Burgoyne is still a completely inaccurate comparison.
Bradley could win the Brownlow, and he'd still be nothing like Shaun Burgoyne as a player.
Shaun Burgoyne is an inside player adept at winning the ball in contested situations - He is the next step behind Judd in terms of being completely impossible to tackle. Brad Dick will never be a similar player to him.
He could be like Peter Burgoyne, but Shaun's a different breed of player.
should be dropped has had about 8 kicks in 4 games isn't ready for the AFL at the moment does have great skills though.
