Hey,
The amount of times i stared at the telly today and shook my head (and have done so every weekend for the past 7 weeks) is outstanding. I turned off the telly at half time. couldnt watch it. Adelaide could be worse. Adelaide could be better. you dont know. All i know is this is the first time we've EVER been 0-7 and im downright pissed off. whadda you think?

I think we shouldn't be looking at the W/L column of the ladder.

We should be looking at how we have played so far this year. If you look at it that way, we've been good/competitive in 4 out of 7 games with chances to win all four.

Thats just as good as last year, except we just cant get the wins this season.

I think it's the worst start to a season in our club's proud history.:thumbsd:

There will have to be more heads roll. Gaspar's was just the start.

Of course we should! Sure, its not all about winning. But losing too much is bad for morale, both team and fan. And instead of trying to guard that (occasional) lead, we should extend on it! (referring to 1st half eagles game)

i am hurting in ways that are indescribable. i cannot work out how some teams can develope so quikly and we are so, so behind them. i don't even know who to blame. players are as good as the direction they are given. coaches are as good as the resources they have around them. i am over the spin doctoring and warm fuzzy stories. where has the passion gone? i'm happy gasper went, but chr1st, what is there to replace him? thursfield is a ghost, browny is a question mark, coggs is knackered. i hope these kids can recover from the stephen king novel that is season 2007 for the tigers. see you all there for the next game at the g.

If you're not a troll, and actually a Richmond supporter, no wonder things are bad at Tigerland. D!ckheads like you make the situation worse!

Let me put it this way, as a famous US gridiron coach (Herm Edwards) said, "You play to win the game. You don't play to just play it" So yes, of course our aim is always to win the game. But when you're analysing our team... you have to look beyond just our win/loss ratio. You look at where our team is improving and where it is falling behind and then make a judgement.

No doubt in our first 5 or so games we got the lead and gave it up way too easily. That is one thing you would look at and say we played great to get to the lead.. but its how we lost the game that we need to work on. Is it the fitness, the game plan, the mental state of some players, the leadership on the field or something else? And then look at how we got in a winning position in the first place, we must have played some decent footy to get there.

I actually think we're in better shape this year we were last year in terms of our long term future. People will jump on the last two weeks and focus only those, but you need to look beyond that and take in account key injuries, especially to our 'senior' players (eg, Simmo, Brown, Cogs etc..), the fact we have been in winning positions in over half of our games so far and the fact most of our players are under 23.

So in short, 0-7 is bad on the outside. I'm hurting like all other Richmond supporters. But taking last week out of it and the first half vs Port, I see some great signs that isn't reflected and cant be summed up by the simple stat of 0 wins and 7 losses.

im not going to be scientific, so here it goes.
The fact is they handball in stupid directions, play the game slowly and NEVER man up. They dont find room for uncontested marks (although a few games where they have found room have been genius and caused miraclous wins-and controversy-yes, im talkin' bout the adelaide game under the dome) im analysing a team that needs to slow down (by that i mean proverbially, not on the field. They do enough of that already) and sort out these problems. I know this will cause controversy but i can blame this mostly on Terry Wallace. He has gone down the same lane as Frawley, and although i support the coaches moves some of Terrys i find hard to swallow. I think they should look into the past (tom hafey days, ahem), find some key tactics, and work on them. PS Ive scrapped the merger idea. It was funny at first, i was like a steak in a yard of malicous dogs. Or Cats for that matter, Geelong Cats.
