For me:
Bartel, G.Ablett, Chappy, Scarlett, Corey are all definite chances the way their playing at the moment. Lingy's not too far off either...

I'm quite aware. Not saying any of those guys will make it. Saying if the team was picked today, those guys are worthy of being in it...
As if the media won't start doing things like "If there was a state of origin game, this is my team" and other such stuff.
As far as I know the All Australian Selectors make a list sometime during the year as to who will be on it... Thought i would throw my enthusiastic Geelong hat in the ring... :thumbsu: :D

I was listening to the radio yesterday and they said the selectors dont sit until rnd 12, so lets not worry til then.

Bartel is a certainty on current form

Rest are possibilities Chappie will be there if he plays most of the yr.

You sound like a good judge 007.
As to those that think it is too early to discuss this, try telling that to the idiots that were talking premierships after round 2 last year.
Milburn would be a certainty in my eyes but he has been Mr.Invisible in the eyes of the media for most of his career (if you dont count the Silvagni incident).

Chappy and Bartel with Scarlett and Ling as outside chances.

The Natural :thumbsu:
QFT. Though there is the strong possibility that they'll recognise the full scope of The Natural's talent and put him in a team by himself...then the AA side will actually have someone to play.

Because he can.

FWIW - it seems as though King & Ottens haven't yet received a nomination yet from your panel of experts!

Ottens has been very good this year, King's only played 2 games, and you're a complete douchebag.

Good one tosser. He didn't ask who will be AA he ask who are the possibilities. I would suggest most teams bar Melbourne & Richmond could put up a 4-5 names.

Essendon supporters would say Mcphee, Lucas, Stanton and Fletcher are all possiblities. Nothing wrong with putting up some names to watch in your team.

Ablett and Bartel - YES

Corey, Chapman, Scarlett, Ling - NO

YES Ablett - has been fantastic, clocking up disposals and kicking a few goals here and there, definite candidate thus far.

YES Bartel - Would have to be starting in the midfield alongside Judd, Kerr, Stanton, Cross or West

NO Chapman - has been great for Geelong, but from the League's perspective I think he'd be outside the current AA

NO Scarlett - not because he's been poor, but Rutten would be a certain starter in the AA full back position because he has blanketed bigger names (Pavlich, Brown etc) as opposed to Scarlett's one good game on Fevola - Scarlo also lowered his colours to less-a-like players like Aaron Edwards who played his best game for the season against Scarlett.

NO Corey - Had a poor start to the season, but has since picked up his stride. Unfortunately he's still behind the league leaders in terms of real output (Kerr, Judd, West, Cross, Bartel, and even Stanton - who are my AA midfielders to date)

NO Mooney - has been good as a key forward, however I think Brendan Fevolam, Lance Franklin and Scott Lucas are all still a long way ahead of Mooney for AA honours at this stage.

MY PROJECTED TEAM AFTER ROUND 7 -

Heath Shaw COLL, Ben Rutten ADE, Andrew McLeod ADE
Cameron Bruce MELB, Chad Cornes PTA, Heath Scotland CAR
Brent Stanton ESS, Scott West WB, Daniel Kerr WC
Lance Franklin HAW, Scott Lucas ESS, Gary Ablett GEEL
Brad Johnson WB, Brendan Fevola CAR, Brent Harvey KANG
Darren Jolly SYD, Chris Judd WC, Jimmy Bartel GEEL
-------------------------------------------------
Daniel Cross WB, Sam Mitchell HAW, Matthew Pavlich FREO, Kane Cornes PTA

Corey No?
He'd be as worthy as most of those onballers you've got...
3 selections for the Bulldogs? For a team outside of the 8?
Pavlich? 15 touches 8 marks and 3 goals a game gets you an AA selcetion?
Too many onballers as well. Seems like you just looked at the top 10 possesion winners and chose a bunch of them...
(Don't mean to pick, just my thoughts...)

I's probably have Gilbee in there instead of Bruce.
Dal Santo instead of Mitchell
Maybe Black instead of West as well (50/50)

I didn't actually look at the lists of top possession winners ... maybe the fact that they regularly win the ball means that they're decent players??? I wouldn't know - all I know is that I rate alot of middies ahead of Corey thus far - I feel Corey has been below his own average in terms of 'real-output' this season.

As for 3 Bulldogs players... whats wrong with that? Just because they are outisde the top 8 doesn't mean that those 3 don't deserve to be in the team - it means that the other 21 players in their side each week probly arn't contributing as much as West, Cross and Johnson.

AND whoever started on Pavlich should realise that averaging 15 possessions, 8 marks and 3 goals a game is actually a damn good return! And yes, does deserve AA selection at this stage!

Yeah, I know, but they're playing good footy.

From the Cats, I'd go Chapman and Scarlett

If I was I'm sure I could come up with a more inventive alias.

No rats aboard this ship, Catman.
In fact we are still to discover each others identity but there would be a fair chance of us sharing the same surname. Is it so hard to believe that two people who obviously love the Catters might find a GFC site in the same month ( I arrived via the link on the Cattery). I dunno about 007 (yet) but I signed on because I am hungry for any information about the Club that I can read and this seemed like an excellent site to get involved in.
Perhaps we will share a drink together to celebrate our flag someday......
