Love the guy and his dedication in getting the best out of himself

BUT

He is a very lucky boy in disputing the 'touched'' goal/point , if that ball he threw in anger hadnt connected with his right arm and hit the umpire he would be looking at an 8-10 week stint on the sideline. He needs to work on this part of his game.

Gotta agree with this one - he is lucky he didnt connect! I was standing right behind that and he clearly touched it - if I saw it (and everyone else in the crowd behind the goals saw it) then why didn't the umpire??? He had every right to be angry, but he nearly crossed that line!

Oh c'mon!

He is a champion player and a champion dummy spitter. Great entertainer, I think you guys are thinking too much of what if....

He is too smart a cookie to do something stupid that will cost him dearly, even in the heat of the moment.

Bass has a very.. very... clear way of making his dislike for decisions known. He is a pretty explosive bloke and wears his heart on his sleeve. But the ball was never going near that umpire... even if it did Bass could have claimed he didnt touch it :)

Id thought hed stopped doing his nut, so good to see some old school.

At the same time, i cringed. It looked like he was going to fling the ball as hard as he could at the bastardly goal umpire. Very very easily could have had a spell on the sidelines for that.

Champion dummy spit. :)

I don't think he would've ever thrown the ball at the umpy though.

Bass was 100% correct he definitely touched the ball before it crossed the line, another shocking mistake by the umpires seemed like we were playing against 27 not 22. The umpiring is the worst it has ever been.

I agree, it sure is great entertainment. Love watching him, very high on my all time favourites list.

And?

Would you then feel he would have been justified hurling the ball at the goal umpire?

Agree. Imagine if he'd copped the bad goal umpiring decision in a really close game and he'd been 10% angrier. He had just enough control as it was. I think he'd be pretty embarrassed looking at the replay.

Something that will be worth watching will be Bassett's last game of football. Reckon the umps will cop an absolute pasting and possibly (hopefully Chamberlain) a spiral to the face from short range. No next week means no penalty - known as the Alastair Lynch Factor.
