Watching a replay of Geelong/Northern Roos this morning, I saw that one of the young Roos hailed from Wycheproof-Narraport, prompting me to explete out loud "they could still do with you back home, you know". I don't think he heard me.

Discouraging result from Wycheproof-Narraport on the weekend, going down to Birchip-Watchem 18.21 to 1.6 (according to AAP). It was a reversal of the reserves result, where W-N had an easy victory.

There was an article recently, I think by Paul Daffey, highlighting the trouble Wycheproof were having in fielding a side, and there's obviously a connection there. Wyche is not a small town, though, so its interesting that they'd have so much of a job finding players.

After destroying Wedderburn in the 2000 GF, Wyche-Narraport failed to make the finals last year, and things seem to have gone from bad to worse!

Hope they can pick up. The Demons have won quite a number of flags in their time, since coming about through merger in the mid-60s, and there'd certainly be plenty of tradition there.

The last I heard about Whycheproof/Narraport's numbers was that they only had around 30 players to fill both seniors and reserves, I don't know if they've recruited any players since then, but they like Kyabram have payed the price for trying to buy premierships.
