Just announced on 10 news... hes quit Westies and gone to Norwood. I expect a jump in his potential ranking.

Haha, i remember this situation being thrown out as a hypothetical earlier in the year and one of you Norwood fellas cursing the very idea. :D

Drummond, how do you rate him now? He's improved quite a bit since yesterday hasn't he... :p

Yes, well I can’t say I’m exactly thrilled. I don’t rate him, that’s the bottom line. He once played for Norwood a few years back in a trial game and his “effort” was deplorable. As long as he puts in 100% every time he steps on the park I will be satisfied.
It will be interesting to see where he is played. We are crying out for a tall defender, especially considering Zorzi is out, but half the reason he left the Bloods was probably because he didn’t like playing in defence. But he was benched in their second game by the Weed so they might have some differences. His effort in that game was less than perfect and the Weed probably noticed it. Jericho better not be coming to the Legs because he perceives he will get a free ride. We need committed players, and I expect nothing less from him.

Haha I opened this thinking it was a joke, why did he move??? It's not like he was playing for West B's.. he just played an AFL game!

wow - that is a strange one.....
oh well its good to see people coming to the legs for all the right reasons
I was expecting a more fired up reaction Drum.
When I heard, I actually thought of your reaction. Proceeded to have a laugh.
Personally I held back in alot of the bagging of him last year.
Thought though he made some bad clangers as usual against brisbane and the jury's out for me on his "transformation". But his effort was more composed.
But he was deadset honest in the press saying this is his last chance yesterday and moving to norwood at his own request could be a sign he is going to have a crack.
We kept him on the list for some reason.

This has been rumoured for a long time, even back last year so no real surprise except for the timing. He wanted to go to Norwood last year but the Crows said he couldn't. Perhaps the fact he is now in the Crows side it is seen as good timing from the Crows point of view.
I am not that happy about it but if he pulls on the Norwood jumper I will support him.

Ditto here and he better be coming over 110% committed to Norwood or he will cop it from the fans big time.
Not happy but I will wait and see how it goes.

I've never wanted Jericho to be picked by the Crows so much. I don't think we will see him this week, he deserves another week at the Crows he showed a fair bit the other night.;)

I'm more curious as to why he didn't end up at the club at the bottom of the ladder at the moment!
Maybe the Bays didn't want him, couldn't be bothered paying the transfer fee?

Sturt would have had first chance at him, but I would think they didn't want to pay the large transfer fee to West to get him.

Drummond '' Jericho had 1 touch but what a Gun effort that 1 touch was, sublime skills in sitting outside the pack, waiting like a seagull on hot chips from a family of German porkers, he then proceeded to kick the ball further up the ground, but unfortunately the boundary line beat the closest Norwood player and it went OOB 30 rows back, but you cant blame LJ for that as it was his first kick in the Redlegs colours , he will be back next week and if I had my way I would make him Captain''

to be serious it was know there were issues between Jericho and his coach the weed last year so I am not too surprised about the move.
the fact that the weed had him benched for 30 minute was probably the straw that broke the donkey's back.
I wish him all the best. Hopefully a fresh start may help him out.
Not too sure about that Sang... I always look poorly at someone who would rather move on after a benching to talking through the issues with his coach
The only saving grace is a perceived desire not to be at Westies previously
Sturt would have had first chance at him, but I would think they didn't want to pay the large transfer fee to West to get him.
Sure he would be useful running the ball up to Chambo for sturt, but we've got zero cash.

Let's face it - could Weed and Luke be 2 people more fundamentally opposite.??

Why don't we all just start a fresh with Jericho, the guy can't be that bad:thumbsu: . While I have bagged him in the past the other part of me has always thought of him as a gun footballer.;)
All aboard the Jericho bandwagon, there is plenty of room.:o

Anyone Know how much was the Transfer fee for LJ to go to Norwood?
I bet Kane Mcgoodwin will miss seeing Jericho suiting up for the Bloods when he ventures down to Richmond!!:)

Maybe it is an endorsement of Trevor Hill. Surely Jericho would have chatted to players from SANFL clubs before making the move. Has he any mates who play for the Redlegs? Good luck to him anyway...I have always respected his football ability and could overlook one disastrous game, which most players have in their careers.
I can say honestly that I have never seen Luke Jericho play football (that I recall).
Yet, suddenly, I have this strange feeling that he is a genius.
Anyone else getting that vibe?
PS Regarding time limits for transfers under the SANFL rules: there should be an It's a Knockout-style rule that all rules about transfer windows are waived if:
a) the bloke being traded is oft criticised for being soft, and
b) the 'from' and 'to' team are playing each other on the coming weekend.

No but he didn't play anywhere near as well as some have suggested either
