Yes it was. Farnham was 206cm (6ft 9). Tim Rendell was 204cm. Well done shiva25.

Matera was shorter than Gotch, but Doug Nicholls was the smallest at 157.5cm (5ft 2).

Have you been reading my notes? That was my next question. For the record, it was also Dean Farnham. His weight fluctuated, but got up to 117.5kg (18st 7lb). Ironmonger was 102kg & pure muscle.

I remember seeing Ironmonger's father with him at a Fitzroy B&F night & he was even taller than John. :eek:

As far as the littlest goes you would have to go way back when. Even the mighty Butcha was barely six foot. Fellow who played in the fifties I know was about 5'8" but his hands were big as plates. They may not have been tall but they were built like brick walls.

Lee Murnane owned some sawmills, but I reckon Ironmonger would have made a great lumberjack.
