View Full Version : "Local knowledge" weather forecast.
To give is divine.
As a courtesy to all supporters for the upcoming match I have a little weather update for game time.
A little local knowledge can be priceless.
Friday Min 13 Max 19 Rain periods, easing to a few showers. Light winds tending westerly.
Saturday Min 11 Max 19 A few showers.
Which actually means somewhere between :
Sunny patches and Torrential downpours
Ground condition will be either:
Dead, Slow, Heavy or Flooded.
Wind reading somewhere between:
Mild zephyrs and Real Howler
Playing temperature:
Either Balmy or Mild or Uncomfortable or Horrific
Clothing recommendations for supporters:
Either Just a woolen shirt or Don’t forget your jumper or Rug right up or Pack the garbage bags or Don’t forget, it’s on Foxtel at the pub.
Hope this clears up Geelong’s impending climatic conditions for all readers, but in particular our visitors from WA.
It could be a long trip home.
I hope it doesn't appear to be traitorous to fellow Cat supporters, I mean divulging trade secrets and all that, but I did the sporting thing and posted that incisive weather report on the Freemantle Board. I mean, in the interests of fair play and all.........

But of course. :D Ahh, the perfect afternoon to play a team from the West! The Kardinia Park away dugout will again resemble a retirement village, hey Hoody? Who remembers Gazza's 50th? Beanied Shockers clutching hot water bottles, competing for pine space and their fair share of a granny rug. Maybe the hot air Hasleby's been exhausting could warm his buddies and help 'em score more than 20-odd this time around.
Hey ChappyMagic35, I think that could've been Dasher's best game. IIRC, he got into a tackle off with Hasleby, who was the only Docker not concentrating on chicken soup. He and Jimmy were everywhere that day. May've been the Great McCarthy's greatest as well, channelling Anna Pavlova in the wet before...um...doing his shoulder..er...again?

To give is divine.
To forgive, divine
and erring, like the catterz inconsistency, is human.
The day was a hoot. The interview with Stevie Johnson after the game when his teeth were chattering. I didn't realise it was cold until I cam out from my blanket in the Hickey stand. It was the under 12's when you would push over the clean players.:D

Don't know if this will help, but it was absolutely teeming with rain at my place at 4.30am this morning. Sounded like someone was dumping buckets of water on my tin roof, and I live about 10 minutes from Skilled. However, was talking to someone who lives about 10 minutes the other side and they didn't get anything at all, so maybe it was just centralised over my flat. :p
EDIT: Had more heavy showers today. Looking good for a Jimmy BOG tomorrow :)

Anyone have a weather update?
All of the above. It'll be four seasons in one day. I live five minutes walk from Skilled.
Anyway I'm about to trundle down now. Let's teach 'em a footballing lesson.
